Eviva Partners Introduces Protecting Our Health
In an essential move towards safeguarding public health,
Eviva Partners, a nonprofit organization focused on enhancing public understanding of medical evidence, has taken a bold step by establishing a new assembly of experts titled
Protecting Our Health (POH). This group is composed of international specialists in communication, public health, and misinformation, geared at addressing the rising tide of pseudoscience.
At the helm of this initiative is Eviva's CEO and founder,
Alex Morozov. A physician, scientist, writer, and former pharmaceutical manager, Morozov emphasizes the importance of informed decision-making based on scientific data. “The medical research landscape has provided a plethora of evidence-based interventions. However, not all of them are universally accepted, leading to gaps in care,” he mentioned. This initiative has never been more crucial in a time when misinformation has the potential to undermine public trust and health.
The Mission of POH
The
Protecting Our Health group operates under three guiding principles:
1.
Return to Science: This aspect aims to empower individuals to distinguish between reliable medical evidence and pseudoscientific claims. By doing so, POH endeavors to foster a more informed public capable of making health-related decisions based on credible sources.
2.
Inclusion: Acknowledging the diverse needs of various communities is paramount. The group seeks to elevate these communities' voices through evidence-driven approaches and two-way communication, thereby reinforcing their understanding and engagement in health matters.
3.
No Industry Funding: Currently,
Eviva Partners is self-funded and is in the process of building a coalition of philanthropists to support its mission without industry influence, which can often compromise the integrity of health information.
Addressing the Aluminum Vaccine Controversy
Recent commentary published by
MSNBC from Morozov, along with prominent vaccine expert
Dr. Helen Petousis-Harris and board member
Professor Stephan Lewandowsky, sheds light on the ongoing strategic attack against aluminum-containing vaccines spearheaded by figures like
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The commentary highlights that despite the claims being circulated, scientific consensus does not identify aluminum as a causal factor for adverse health effects.
A comprehensive study involving over 1.2 million children conducted in
Denmark found no correlation between aluminum in vaccines and 50 chronic illnesses, including autism. The authors warned of the dire consequences if anti-vaccine activists succeed in undermining aluminum-containing vaccines despite overwhelming research evidence. Diseases preventable through vaccination, such as
diphtheria, meningitis, hepatitis, and various cancers, could see a resurgence, leading to tremendous mortality and suffering.
Moving Forward with Evidence-Based Health
Protecting Our Health is more than just a campaign; it is a call to action. The collaborative effort aims to mend the damage inflicted by misinformation. By weaving together evidence, storytelling, and community engagement, Eviva and the POH group aspire to establish a path forward anchored in fact-based health empowerment and robust community support.
