The Taste of Japan Festival is set to return to the STC Anaheim GardenWalk, inviting attendees to delve into the richness of Japanese culture without leaving Orange County. Scheduled from
June 13 to June 15, this annual festival is a celebration of all things Japanese, and this year marks its
6th anniversary. It promises an entertaining weekend filled with authentic cuisine, mesmerizing performances, and fun-filled activities for participants of all ages.
Kicking off the festivities will be
Tokyo City Lights, a special opening night event at the House of Blues featuring a lineup of talented artists like TeddyLoid, Vantage, and DJ Hello Kitty, ensuring a vibrant start to the weekend. Every ticket holder stands a chance to win attractive prizes while enjoying the lively ambiance.
During the festival, guests can wander through over
100 booths run by some of the best Japanese vendors from Southern California. Enjoy enticing Japanese dishes and delightful treats spread across the levels of the GardenWalk, from traditional meals to exciting street food available in the
Oishii Yokocho, a street food alley showcasing favorites such as Kagura, Takoyaki Tanota, and Midoh.
Entertainment will abound with live shows featuring traditional Japanese drummers, martial arts performances, and dance exhibitions reflecting various facets of the rich Japanese pop culture. Art enthusiasts will find joy in
Takumi Alley, where local artisan crafts and unique items will be on display, allowing festival-goers to appreciate Japanese artistry.
For families, traditional Japanese festival games like
Hit the Can,
Candy Catching, and
Ring Toss will bring joy to attendees of all ages. Anime and toy vendors will also make their presence felt, catering to fans excited to explore the world of their favorite characters.
For those aged 21 and over, the festival features
Yokocho, a 13,000 square foot indoor VIP beer and sake garden where guests can savor authentic Japanese beverages paired with traditional bar snacks, hosted by Honda-Ya Japanese restaurant. This dedicated space offers a unique experience to taste and enjoy Japan’s finest brews.
Situated at
400 W Disney Way in Anaheim, the STC GardenWalk is easily accessible, with parking available in its four-story garage and additional lots. Given the expected turnout, festival organizers recommend ridesharing for guests headed to the Yokocho VIP section.
Entry to the Taste of Japan Festival is free, while tickets for the
Tokyo City Lights x Taste of Japan event are available for $60.
Yokocho VIP tickets cost $15, featuring either 2 beer tastings or 3 sake tastings, alongside special packages available for enthusiasts.
