Special Event Announcement: Future of Management Roles
EVeM, a company providing manager enablement services, will host a special dialogue event on September 25, 2025, featuring Yuji Kobayashi, a chief researcher at Persol Research Institute. The event, titled "The Future of Management Roles: Moving Beyond Communication Skills Alone,” aims to address the pressing structural challenges faced by management in today's complex corporate environment.
Background of the Event
In recent years, as companies have evolved, the responsibilities of managers have become increasingly complicated. They are expected not only to drive results across diverse teams but also to be responsible for the development of their members. This dual pressure has led to a growing concern regarding the phenomenon referred to as “management as a punishment,” where the burdens of excessive work and complex responsibilities disproportionately fall on middle management. Moreover, a rising number of individuals express a reluctance to pursue managerial positions altogether.
At EVeM, we argue that the issues surrounding management stem not from individual skills, but from structural problems within organizations. We aim to reinterpret management, which tends to be reliant on personal abilities and often lacks reproducibility, as a clear set of technologies that can be standardized and practiced by anyone. This event will serve as a platform to reconsider how to best empower and support managers and HR professionals in their roles.
Event Overview
The dialogue will feature Yuji Kobayashi and EVeM's CEO, Yoshiyuki Nagamura, in a conversational format where they will discuss the contemporary challenges faced by managers and their structural backgrounds. Additionally, they will explore solutions provided by “reproducible management techniques.”
Participants can look forward to an open Q&A session focusing on real-world corporate challenges. This will provide practical learning opportunities that attendees can apply to their respective workplaces starting the next day.
After the discussions, there will be a networking event for participants. This informal gathering will allow attendees to interact casually with the speakers and network with professionals from other companies.
