The project titled "MASUNAGA1905 meets ARTISTS" will be produced in collaboration with Avex Creator Agency, aiming to redefine customer experiences in optical retail through innovative art exhibitions and special collaborations with modern artists.

This initiative will be launched at the MASUNAGA1905 Aoyama store, with associated activities planned across their locations nationwide in Japan. From November 11, 2025, MASUNAGA1905 will showcase various artworks from contemporary artists within its stores, alongside the distribution of limited-edition eyewear cleaning cloths, designed specifically for this collaboration.

The project kicks off with the introduction of artist Saki Maeda, hailing from Fukui, the same region where MASUNAGA was founded. Her exhibition will be hosted at the MASUNAGA1905 Aoyama store from November 11, 2025, alongside limited collaborations available at the store and other direct managed outlets across Japan.

Additionally, a special exhibition named "MASUNAGA1905: Timeless Vision" will take place at WALL_alternative in Nishiazabu, Tokyo. This exhibition, running for three days, will provide an extensive showcase of over ten archival frames dating from the company’s establishment in 1905 to the present day. Notably, it will feature the unveiling of the fresh artwork from Saki Maeda as well as the launch of the “Edition 120,” a new collection commemorating the 120 years of excellence in eyewear.

The exhibition will also incorporate a bar serving locally sourced delicacies and natural wines from the Hokuriku region, enhancing the thematic connection between the art, local culture, and the brand.

About Saki Maeda

Saki Maeda, born in Fukui in 1993, is an accomplished artist who graduated from Kyoto University of the Arts with a focus on oil painting in 2015. Her recent solo exhibitions include "convergence-boundary" at Kamo Nasu Artist-in-Residence (Kyoto, 2021) and "Accumulating as we pass by" (Tokyo, 2022). Saki’s unique technique involves layering oil paints using a painting knife, allowing her to build a dynamic interrelationship of form and depth.
