Zeon Corporation Hosts Volleyball Exchange Event

On July 26, Zeon Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, organized a volleyball exchange event at Zeon Arena in Shunan, Yamaguchi Prefecture. This event marks the second edition of the gathering, following Zeon's acquisition of naming rights to the arena in April of last year. The day was filled with excitement as a total of 215 participants, including local teams and the Kurashiki Ablaze—an elite women's volleyball team competing in the V.LEAGUE—came together for an energetic day of volleyball.

Supported by Shunan City and in cooperation with the Shunan Volleyball Association, the event featured a volleyball clinic for young students led by the professional players of Kurashiki Ablaze, alongside joint training sessions with teams from Tokuyama Commerce High School and Shunan University.

During the opening ceremony, Mr. Honma, the factory manager of the Tokuyama plant, expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the preparation and organization. He encouraged the children present to learn skills from the Kurashiki Ablaze players as they aspire to realize their dreams. Mayor Ritsuko Fujii, who was also in attendance, welcomed the Kurashiki Ablaze players and highlighted the unique opportunity for the youth to receive coaching from professionals, urging them to play with passion and enthusiasm for a memorable day.

The volleyball clinic targeted at elementary and middle school students attracted 11 different teams, showcasing the enthusiasm of the young talents as they engaged in skill development under the professional players’ dedicated guidance. In contrast, the joint training sessions with high school and university students revealed their earnest determination to absorb advanced volleyball techniques from the professionals.

The event culminated in a thrilling exhibition match featuring the Kurashiki Ablaze's players, where the exciting rallies captivated the audience, keeping their eyes glued to the ongoing action. The high level of skill and competitiveness demonstrated during this match left a lasting impression on all present.

As the Tokuyama plant celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, Zeon Corporation hopes that through activities like this volleyball exchange, it will contribute to nurturing the next generation. They remain committed to fostering community relations and meeting societal expectations through their efforts.
