CGN OPEN DAY 2025: Bridging Continents Through Clean Energy Initiatives

CGN OPEN DAY 2025: Connecting Four Continents Through Clean Energy and Culture

On September 29, 2025, the China General Nuclear Power Group (CGN) successfully hosted its CGN OPEN DAY 2025. This international event spanned across four continents—France, Namibia, Laos, and Brazil—engaging communities in clean energy initiatives while fostering a spirit of cultural understanding and social responsibility.

A Global Celebration of Clean Energy

The event highlighted the company's commitment to clean energy projects that aim to create a sustainable future. Through open houses at various locations, participants, including students and families, gained insights into how renewable energy facilities work and their significance in global ecological efforts.

France: A Classroom of Youth and Innovation
In Paris La Défense at CGN Europe Energy headquarters, more than 20 students from the University of Versailles explored the company’s advanced operation control center. They learned about the innovative digital system that manages wind farms spanning across the UK, Belgium, and Ireland. Engineers provided fascinating insights into how these turbines withstand extreme weather, the technology that protects wildlife such as birds and bats, and the extensive process involved from initial site selection to connecting to the electrical grid. Through these interactive sessions, students were able to grasp complex concepts in renewable energy management in an engaging way.

Namibia: Family Bonds at Husab Uranium Mine
Near the Atlantic coast, the Husab Uranium Mine opened its doors to the families of nearly 80 employees for a long-awaited Family Open Day. Children were amazed by the towering mining trucks, described as 'as tall as houses,' while learning about the intricate processes involved in transforming uranium ore. The children participated in various interactive quizzes and science talks, transforming the mine's tour into a joyous educational experience.

Brazil: Solar Energy Meets Ecology
In Ceará state, the Lagoinha Solar Plant transformed into a 'nature and science classroom' for local schoolchildren. Safety lessons were imparted before students got hands-on experience with photovoltaic panels, leading to an understanding of how sunlight is converted into electricity. Engineers explained the process using simple analogies, while environmental experts elaborated on how the solar facility coexists harmoniously with local wildlife and nature, showcasing the potential of solar energy to work in tandem with ecological preservation.

Laos: Tradition Meets Innovation
In Oudomxay province, students and teachers participated in CGN OPEN DAY at the Northern Clean Energy Project. They took part in traditional weaving activities at the 'CGN Shimmer Workshop' before touring a solar demonstration site. This initiative highlighted CGN's dedication to supporting women’s employment while promoting clean energy development in Laos. The combination of cultural heritage and modern energy solutions emphasized a balanced approach to progress.

A Unified Mission

CGN OPEN DAY 2025 embodied the slogan: "Developing Clean Energy to Benefit Mankind." The event successfully brought together technology, education, and cultural dialogue under one unified theme. By showcasing its innovative efforts across diverse regions, CGN has demonstrated its commitment to being a responsible global partner in sustainable development.

Through these enriching experiences, CGN deepens community connections, educates future leaders, and promotes ecological understanding, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable world for all.
