On this Giving Tuesday, the BISSELL Pet Foundation (BPF) proudly unveiled its 2025 End-of-Year Impact Report, showcasing the remarkable progress made in improving the lives of shelter pets across the United States. From October 2024 to September 2025, the foundation's dedicated efforts, supported by generous donors, veterinarians, and volunteers, have significantly shaped the landscape of animal welfare. This year's report reveals that over 1.1 million pets were positively affected through a variety of initiatives, including spay/neuter services, pet adoptions, transportation assistance, and crisis response efforts. With the ongoing challenges of overcrowded shelters and resource limitations, BPF's initiatives have shown what a united community can achieve for animals in need.

One of the highlights of 2025 was reaching a remarkable milestone: BPF's programs have collectively impacted over a million pets. The demand for lifesaving services has surged, emphasizing the critical nature of BPF's work. The report outlines key accomplishments that underscore BPF's commitment to reducing shelter populations and enhancing the wellbeing of animals:
1. Fix the Future® Program: This flagship initiative performed an impressive 195,360 spay/neuter surgeries, solidifying its role as a pioneer in the realm of high-volume spay/neuter programs. By enhancing access to veterinary care, this program significantly contributes to reducing shelter intake rates and preventing unnecessary euthanasia.
2. Empty the Shelters® Adoptions: Through a combination of national events and emergency initiatives, BPF successfully facilitated the adoption of 78,263 pets. This reduced-fee adoption program has been instrumental in alleviating shelter crowding, allowing countless pets, including seniors and bonded pairs, to secure forever homes.
3. Animal Incident Management®: BPF's dedicated AIM team successfully responded to numerous emergencies across the nation, including:
- Assisting nearly 100 pets during Texas's flooding.
- Evacuating pets from Kentucky shelters following severe storm destruction.
- Aiding in a large-scale cruelty case in Tennessee, rescuing nearly 200 dogs.
The AIM team also bolstered disaster preparedness partnerships in 26 communities, strengthening networks to support future emergencies.
4. Transporting Pets: BPF provided transport for 7,622 pets from overcrowded shelters to areas with greater adoption potential, an effective strategy to save lives.
5. Critical Medical Care: Through programs such as Grateful Pet and RescueLove®, BPF funded essential treatments for 298 medically vulnerable pets who required urgent medical attention, showcasing a commitment to offering every pet the chance they deserve.
In honor of Giving Tuesday, all donations received will be matched up to $200,000, amplifying the impact supporters can have. Following this event, all other contributions made until the end of the year will be doubled.
