During the International Digital Energy Expo (IDEE) 2025, a significant event was held where leaders from the energy sector gathered to discuss the future of renewable energy. Dato Ir. Ts. Razib Dawood from the ASEAN Centre for Energy discussed strategies to boost renewable energy supply and network integration, highlighting regional commitments to zero net emissions and attracting investment.
Experts also underscored the technological innovations necessary to meet the demands of a changing energy landscape. Peter Wall from BloombergNEF discussed how increased renewable energy shares lead to decreased inertia in energy systems, requiring the adoption of synchronous condensers and Energy Storage Systems (ESS) that can maintain stability in the grid.
The discourse further expanded on operational rules for network operators and standards that would support new energy systems. Presentations by key figures such as Wang Jifeng and Li Jian illustrated how technological advancements are essential for high-quality development in the energy sector.

Steven Zhou, President of the Smart PV and ESS product line at Huawei Digital Power, discussed innovative solutions for forming networks poised for all scenarios. He detailed how Huawei has paved the way for a robust energy infrastructure capable of supporting large-scale integration through digital advancements.
Dennis B. Jordan, CEO of MGEN Renewable Energy, showcased MTerra Solar, the largest integrated photovoltaic and network-forming BESS project globally, which features remarkable capacity and energy storage solutions.
