Tongji University's Remarkable Achievement in Global Rankings

On September 8th, the Financial Times unveiled its 2025 Global Master in Management Rankings, highlighting the top institutions worldwide. Among them, the School of Economics and Management (SEM) of Tongji University made a historic leap, securing the 8th position, marking its first entry into the top ten list. This accolade comes after four consecutive years of being in the top 25, showcasing the consistent excellence of Tongji SEM.

This prominent ranking is supported by Tongji SEM’s outstanding performance across several crucial metrics. Notably, it ranked first globally in value for money, indicating that students are receiving exceptional education relative to their financial investment. Moreover, over the past three years, 100% of graduates found employment within three months of completing their degrees, highlighting the institution's successful career support services. SEM was also recognized as the 13th best for career services and 14th for career advancement, reinforcing its commitment to student success.

Almost 90% of students reported achieving their academic goals, particularly in enhancing their management skills and broadening their international perspectives. This success is complemented by a thriving alumni network, which extends its resources across five continents, providing current students and graduates with ongoing professional support, collaboration opportunities, and cross-cultural exchanges.

The remarkable achievements of Tongji SEM can be attributed to its high degree of internationalization, practical teaching approaches, and adherence to the latest sustainable development standards (ESG). Programs are conducted in English, fostering a uniquely diverse student body. The school has established partnerships with over 100 top business schools in more than 30 countries, offering a myriad of international exchange programs, including dual degree courses, student exchanges, and overseas summer schools, which provide upwards of 300 opportunities for international study each year.

In 2024, Tongji SEM took a significant step by inaugurating its first overseas campus in Berlin, enhancing its international educational ecosystem and enabling students to develop a more comprehensive global perspective. Additionally, the institution launched its first project focusing on innovative practices and experiential learning (IPAL), in collaboration with various companies such as JD Digits Industrial, YTO Express, and Transsion Holdings. This initiative aims to elevate students' innovative capabilities and problem-solving skills.

The recent ranking success reflects Tongji SEM's unwavering dedication to student-centered educational philosophy and high-quality service delivery. Furthermore, it affirms the school’s mission to cultivate skilled management professionals familiar with Chinese business practices and prepared for leadership roles on a global stage. Tongji SEM, accredited by AACSB, EQUIS, and CAMEA, continues to strive for excellence in educating top-tier talent while deepening international cooperation and bridging educational insights between China and the rest of the world.
