Ferrovial, a prominent player in global infrastructure development, has unveiled an ambitious project to construct a 250 MW solar photovoltaic facility in Milam County, Texas. This development is not only a remarkable investment but also a significant stride towards sustainable energy in the region. With an estimated total investment of around $355 million, including debt financing, Ferrovial is set to play a crucial role in enhancing the energy landscape of Texas.

The project, which is poised to deliver dependable electricity to the state's power grid, aligns perfectly with Ferrovial's ongoing commitment to fostering long-term economic growth in the areas it serves. "This project serves as a vivid illustration of how investing in infrastructure can yield direct benefits for local communities," stated María José Esteruelas, CEO of Ferrovial Energy. Construction is scheduled to begin imminently and is expected to generate approximately 300 jobs during the building phase. The facility is projected to commence power generation by 2027, producing around 450 GWh annually—enough energy to supply approximately 43,000 homes. This initiative not only bolsters Ferrovial’s energy portfolio in Texas, complementing the existing 257 MWdc plant located in Leon County, but also demonstrates the company's reputation as a leader in the renewable energy sector.

In addition, Ferrovial is nearing the completion of a 72 MW photovoltaic plant in the Houston area, undertaken for its client X-Elio. The expanding solar projects in Texas highlight Ferrovial's drive to meet the evolving energy demands of the region while also adhering to sustainability practices.
