ONE Store Solidifies Its Position as Korea's Second Largest App Marketplace

ONE Store Becomes Korea's Second Largest App Marketplace

ONE Store, a prominent Korean app marketplace, recently announced that it has successfully established itself as the second-largest app marketplace in the country. This remarkable achievement was highlighted in the latest report by IGAWorks, which detailed the transaction volumes across the leading app marketplaces in Korea.

According to the "Mobile Index" report from IGAWorks, ONE Store captured an impressive 12.6% of the gaming transaction value spanning from the second half of 2020 to the first half of 2025. This figure not only underscores the growth trajectory of ONE Store but also solidifies its reputation in the increasingly competitive Korean app ecosystem.

Founded in 2016, ONE Store is notable for being a leading third-party app marketplace globally. The recent milestones it has achieved are a testament to its ability to build strong relationships with both developers and users. ONE Store has attracted a loyal user base through low fees, effective marketing support, and various user incentives. This strategy has proven vital in distinguishing itself from major global competitors.

To date, developers using ONE Store have collectively saved around 380 billion KRW (approximately 257 million USD) in fees, while users have reaped the benefits of about 690 billion KRW (around 467 million USD) in discounts. In the first half of 2025, data revealed that out of the 50 highest-earning games available on ONE Store and other major platforms, ONE Store accounted for 49.2% of the transaction value. This revelation indicates that consumers are gravitating towards platforms that offer enhanced value propositions.

Additionally, ONE Store's Average Revenue Per Paying User (ARPPU) was reported to be approximately five times higher than that of its major competitors. This remarkable figure highlights not only a strong commitment from users but also their higher spending capacity—a critical component for the platform's sustained growth.

When breaking down performance by genre, ONE Store also shines brightly. In the first half of 2025, it held a transaction share of 50.9% in RPGs, 64.8% in simulation games, and 49.2% in strategy games among the top 50 earnings titles. The average share across these three popular genres in Korea stood at 52.9%, reinforcing ONE Store's position as a preferred marketplace for Korean gamers.

As consumer preferences continue to evolve, the shift towards platforms that deliver better value is evident, and ONE Store seems well-positioned to capitalize on this trend. Through a win-win approach with developers and an expanding array of user benefits, ONE Store is set to further entrench its leadership in the competitive app marketplace landscape in Korea.

In summary, the progress displayed by ONE Store not only marks a significant milestone in its own journey but also offers vital insights into the future of app marketplaces in Korea. As more users and developers embrace the platform, it may very well reinforce ONE Store's status as a top contender in the global app marketplace ecosystem.
