Consulting Magazine Opens Submissions for 2026 Best Firms to Work For
Consulting Magazine, part of the Arc network, is thrilled to announce that it has officially opened the survey submissions for its highly anticipated 2026 Best Firms to Work For program. This program honors the consulting profession's top employers based solely on the feedback from the professionals within these firms. From now until June 4, 2026, firms are encouraged to submit their nominations.
Unlike other industry awards that rely on peer nominations or external judging, the Best Firms distinction is rooted in a self-directed and data-driven evaluation process. Each year, thousands of consulting professionals take part in comprehensive surveys about their workplace experiences, and these responses are meticulously analyzed using objective and quantifiable criteria. This allows the magazine to identify which firms truly excel in areas such as firm culture, employee satisfaction, and career development.
Michael Webb, the Director of Consulting Magazine, stated, “What makes this distinction so powerful is that it strips away the marketing and gets right to the truth of the employee experience. In a highly competitive talent market, a firm's culture is its ultimate differentiator, and there is no better measure of that culture than the honest feedback of its professionals.”
For over two decades, Consulting Magazine has proudly recognized exceptional workplaces in the consulting industry. Securing a spot on the Best Firms to Work For list is a coveted achievement that few firms attain. The honorees consistently display an unwavering commitment to investing in their personnel, which directly correlates with outstanding client service.
To provide fair and accurate assessments, the 2026 honorees will be segmented into four size categories:
- - Boutique firms: 20–50 billable personnel
- - Small firms: 51–249 billable personnel
- - Midsize firms: 250–999 billable personnel
- - Large firms: 1,000 or more billable personnel
The evaluation process considers six essential areas of employee satisfaction, including culture, compensation and benefits, career development, client engagement, work/life balance, and firm leadership. Scores from all participating firms are compared to establish an objective ranking.
To qualify for participation, firms must have a minimum of 20 full-time billable consultants, with at least 10% of them completing the survey. The specific requirements by size category are as follows:
- - Boutique firms (20-50 consultants): Minimum of 10 completed surveys
- - Small firms (51-249 consultants): Minimum of 20 completed surveys
- - Midsize firms (250-999 consultants): Minimum of 30 completed surveys
- - Large firms (1,000+ consultants): Minimum of 100 completed surveys
Each firm that participates will receive a basic benchmarking report that details their raw scores and rankings across the six measured categories. Firms seeking more detailed insights can opt for expanded bespoke reports, which include category scores for all survey questions, verbatim employee feedback, and comparative scoring against the top firms in the industry.
“Earning a spot on this list is the ultimate testament to a leadership team that truly champions its greatest asset: its people,” said Webb.
The winners will be honored at an exclusive awards dinner taking place on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at The Midland Chicago in Chicago, Illinois.
