Reflections on Cultural Exchange at ANO-NE Kids Club's Children's Day Event

MIMARU Reflects on Children's Day Cultural Exchange Event

On May 5th, 2026, the ANO-NE Kids Club held its annual Children’s Day event in Tokyo's Ginza/Yurakucho district. This gathering offered a unique platform for children from Japan and around the world to engage in cultural exchange through play. Organized by MIMARU, a leading brand of family apartments in Japan, the event attracted 26 children with the purpose of experiencing active games, bilingual storytelling, and traditional Japanese craft activities.

The essence of the event was designed to allow children to play freely while their parents enjoyed some leisure time in the city. It embodied the broader mission of the ANO-NE Kids Club, which is to support modern family travel. A friendly environment was created where language barriers fell away as children forged connections through engaging activities. According to post-event surveys, a remarkable 51% of the kids attending were from families from over 30 countries, highlighting the club’s international appeal.

Mao Mochizuki from Cosmos Hotel Management remarked on the natural way children connect with each other, stating, "Sometimes, adults become overly mindful of language barriers. Children are innate travelers, a fact that adults often overlook. The ANO-NE Kids Club facilitates these enriching interactions."

Participants engaged in cooperative tasks and shared playful experiences that encouraged communication, leaving parents reassured that their kids were not just safe but genuinely enjoying an enriching experience. Post-event ratings showed an impressive average satisfaction score of 9 out of 10, indicating that parents valued the opportunity for their children to socialize and explore while they also took a break.

As family travel continues to evolve, parents increasingly seek experiences that cater to their children's needs as well as their own during trips. Mochizuki pointed out, "The ultimate goal of the ANO-NE Kids Club is simple – we want parents to relax during their journeys, while children create lasting memories with their peers."

Through activities that foster cooperation and shared joy, this event not only provided delightful entertainment but also served as an important reminder of the spontaneous connections that can happen outside of structured environments. Certainly, the ANO-NE Kids Club exemplifies how travel experiences can be designed to enrich families collectively, ensuring that both parents and children return home with cherished memories.
