Datamaran Appoints Marlies Gevaert as New Commercial Director

Datamaran, a leading provider of AI-powered risk management software and governance solutions, has announced the appointment of Marlies Gevaert as its new Commercial Director. Her appointment marks an important step in the company's transition towards a more customer-centric and segment-driven operational model, aimed at optimizing Datamaran's focus on rapidly growing market segments.

Based in Valencia, Gevaert will lead one of two newly established go-to-market teams. This reorganization is part of Datamaran’s commitment to adapting to changing market dynamics and enhancing its service delivery to clients. With over 16 years of experience in bridging sustainability, regulation, marketing strategy, and revenue generation, Gevaert brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role.

Prior to joining Datamaran, Gevaert was with Greenomy, a part of Position Green, where she spent more than four years cultivating the growth of the commercial segment and recently served as the General Manager for the Benelux region. Her prior experience at EDICOM, a leader in SaaS solutions for electronic invoicing and VAT compliance, allowed her to establish and expand the company's first commercial team in the Benelux market, directly consulting Fortune 500 clients on global regulatory compliance.

Gevaert's career has also seen her work in the realm of sustainability policy, having served as an EU policy advisor and coordinator in the European Parliament, as well as an advisor for international economic policies with the Flemish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her diversified professional background exemplifies her profound understanding of both policy-making and business development, thus positioning her uniquely to address the challenges faced by today's businesses.

Marjella Lecourt-Alma, CEO and co-founder of Datamaran, spoke highly of Gevaert’s dual-sided experience: "Marlies has dedicated her career to understanding the pressures that businesses face, as well as the strategies needed to turn regulatory burdens into business value. She embodies the leadership qualities we need to drive our segmented team structure forward."

Reflecting on her new role, Gevaert emphasized her commitment to helping companies recognize ESG criteria and compliance not merely as obligations but as sources of real business value. She expressed her enthusiasm for the innovative AI governance approaches at Datamaran that align with her mission.

"The regulatory landscape is constantly evolving, and companies require partners who can swiftly adapt to these changes. I am eager to contribute to this mission at Datamaran,” she stated. Gevaert's focus on transforming commercial momentum into tangible business results will be integral as Datamaran continues to elevate its marketplace presence and customer engagement strategies.

Datamaran's initiative to enhance its operational model comes at a crucial juncture, where organizations across various sectors are keenly focusing on compliance and sustainability amidst ever-growing regulatory pressures. Gevaert's extensive background and proven track record in driving commercial strategies will be pivotal as the company seeks to solidify its position as a leading player in the governance and risk management sector. As Datamaran moves forward with its mission to empower companies through effective risk management solutions, Gevaert’s leadership is set to play a crucial role in shaping its strategic direction and realizing its vision of integrating AI in governance for the regulatory landscape of tomorrow.
