Collaboration for Regional Revitalization
Work Design Lab, a general incorporated association based in Chuo, Tokyo, led by President Takashi Ishikawa, has recently entered into a collaborative agreement with Ogaki City, governed by Mayor Hitoshi Ishida. This partnership aims to foster vibrant and diverse local communities through joint public-private efforts for regional revitalization.
Background
The inception of this collaboration agreement traces back to online discussions that began in the spring of 2025. Following these initial talks, members of Work Design Lab visited Ogaki City for fieldwork, where they engaged firsthand with the local history, culture, and community life. They also conducted direct dialogues with representatives from municipal departments. This immersive experience helped deepen their understanding of Ogaki City's unique appeal and the local challenges it faces. It further revealed the possibility for cooperation in various areas, including collaboration with metropolitan resources and establishing promotional strategies for engagement with the community.
As work progressed, the vision of achieving a vibrant and diverse regional society became aligned between both parties, leading to the current formalization of this partnership.
