Tokyo Digital Academy Now Accepting Applications for Young Engineers Course

Tokyo Digital Academy: Young Engineers Course Enrollment Opens



The Tokyo Digital Academy, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the General Incorporated Foundation GovTech Tokyo, has initiated the recruitment process for its Young Engineers Course for the fiscal year 2026. This course is designed to empower young individuals in their career advancement while producing skilled digital transformation (DX) personnel equipped with the latest technologies.

Course Overview


The Young Engineers Course offers a reskilling program across three high-demand technical fields: Application Development, Cloud Infrastructure, and AI & Machine Learning. Key features of the program include:

  • - Rapid acquisition of market-relevant skills in chosen fields.
  • - Personalized support from a dedicated concierge to address learning doubts and career-related challenges, ensuring effective skill enhancement.
  • - Opportunities for practical application of what was learned, contributing to career progression.
  • - Financial assistance of up to ¥300,000 post-course completion.

Enrollment Eligibility


The course is aimed at individuals who meet the following criteria:
1. Born on or after April 2, 1991.
2. Have experience working in IT-related roles and a willingness to continue in the IT field.
3. An ambition for career growth through employment or job change.
4. One of the following conditions:
- Resides in Tokyo.
- Employed in Tokyo and intends to continue working in the area after course completion.
- Not currently employed in Tokyo but plans to work there post-course.

Approximately 500 participants will be accepted based on selection criteria.

Course Content


Reskilling Programs


1. Application Development: Participants will learn practical knowledge and skills required for designing and developing web applications. Ideal for those aiming to deepen their expertise through hands-on projects.
- Introductory to Advanced React and Go courses offered at ¥300,000 each by Samurai Corporation.

2. Cloud Infrastructure: Participants will grasp the fundamentals of system design and construction using cloud services. Courses available cover fundamental knowledge and real-world application.
- Offered by Kikagaku Corporation and Classmethod Co. at ¥297,000 and ¥330,000 respectively.

3. AI & Machine Learning: This segment provides training in data analysis and machine learning using Python, ideal for those looking to systematically understand and apply AI technologies in their careers.
- Courses from Samurai Corporation and Kikagaku Corporation are priced at approximately ¥300,000 or ¥297,000 respectively.

Financial Support


Following the completion of the reskilling program, participants can receive financial aid of up to ¥300,000 covering their course expenses. Note that distribution of aid takes one to two months post-application.

Concierge Support


Each participant will be assigned a dedicated concierge. This professional will support learners throughout their training journey, providing assistance with learning challenges, career advice, document editing, interview preparation, and portfolio development. The aim is to ensure that all participants achieve their career aspirations.

Skill Development Opportunities


Various career events will take place, including:
  • - Kickoff Events: Featuring IT experts discussing skill enhancement techniques and creating a collaborative learning environment among participants.
  • - Matching Events: Employers will introduce job opportunities and provide a chance for direct interaction and inquiries.
  • - Pitch Events: Graduates will present their portfolios to prospective employers, receiving valuable feedback that could aid in future tasks or job searches.

Job Placement Support


Concierges will assist participants in preparing for job applications based on their skills and career goals. Regular progress checks and advice on overcoming challenges in their job search will also be provided. Additionally, training and qualifications may be funded for participants hired by employers post-course, with up to ¥200,000 available for necessary preparatory expenses.
