Global Campaign '7 Wonders of Future Cities' Launches on World Cities Day
On October 31, 2025, New7Wonders officially unveiled its latest global initiative, "7 Wonders of Future Cities," coinciding with World Cities Day. This exciting campaign seeks to identify the seven urban marvels that exemplify innovation, sustainability, and human progress in shaping tomorrow’s cities.
The campaign follows a successful preliminary launch earlier this month, marking the start of an extensive proposal and submission phase. Over the next twelve months, cities, districts, and large urban projects from around the world will nominate themselves to be part of this competition, showcasing their achievements in technology, design, livability, and environmental harmony.
Bernard Weber, the founder and president of New7Wonders, stated, "With '7 Wonders of Future Cities', we are expanding our mission to shift focus from celebrating the heritage of humanity to recognizing its future horizons. The wonders of tomorrow are being constructed today by the creativity and courage of contemporary urban visionaries."
Jean-Paul de la Fuente, the director of New7Wonders and the president of the '7 Wonders of Future Cities' campaign, emphasized, "Today, we are initiating a global dialogue on what truly makes a city of the future. It’s all about how innovation serves humanity and how imagination can reconnect progress with purpose. We aspire to celebrate cities and developments that dare to dream, design, and achieve a better balance between nature, community, and growth."
Consistent with New7Wonders' proven methodology, civic engagement will be essential throughout the process. After the current submission period, which invites entries via
www.7wondersfc.com, global voting will commence on October 31, 2026, concluding with the official declaration of the '7 Wonders of Future Cities' on October 31, 2027.
This campaign is organized by Global Platform Limited, the international business and licensing branch of New7Wonders based in Dubai. '7 Wonders of Future Cities' joins other global, thematic, and national participation campaigns by New7Wonders, including the New 7 Wonders of the World and the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Notably, these initiatives have garnered over 600 million votes to date and have generated the independently validated 'Wonder Effect,' creating substantial socio-economic, marketing, branding, and educational value for participating destinations and nations, which amounts to hundreds of billions of dollars.
