XNRG.tech Showcases ExploMar's WAVE300 at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge

Monumental Debut at Monaco Energy Boat Challenge

The 2025 Monaco Energy Boat Challenge (MEBC) has marked a new milestone in marine innovation, as XNRG.tech unveils its high-performance energyX 6.3 RIB powered by ExploMar's groundbreaking WAVE 300 electric outboard motor. The WAVE 300 is a 300-horsepower powerhouse, making its highly anticipated debut during one of the world’s most prestigious energy boat competitions.

The WAVE300: A Powerhouse of Innovation

Developed by ExploMar, a leading electric outboard manufacturer based in China, the WAVE 300 represents the cutting-edge of electric propulsion technology. Powered by a robust 125 kWh lithium-ion battery, this outboard is not only one of the earliest in its category but also among the most powerful available today. The WAVE 300 was delivered to XNRG.tech in mid-2024 and has undergone rigorous testing, showcasing its capabilities in various marine environments.

Real-World Testing and Performance

At the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge, the WAVE 300 lived up to its promise, delivering exhilarating performance in both the endurance race and speed trial segments. During the endurance race, held on July 4th, the energyX 6.3, driven by the WAVE 300, secured the top position in the Electric Propulsion System – Open Sea Class. Completing a staggering 27 laps on a 0.66-nautical-mile circuit, the vessel reached a maximum speed of 42 knots while returning to the dock with a remarkable 11% battery life left — a testament to both its efficiency and performance.

Speed and Agility on Display

Following this triumph, the energyX 6.3 again claimed the spotlight during the 16-nautical-mile Speed Trial on July 5th. This segment saw the electric boat race from Monaco to Ventimiglia, where it emerged as the first electric vessel to complete the trial, clocking in at just 29 minutes with 40% battery life remaining. This performance not only demonstrated the speed capabilities of the WAVE 300 but also illustrated its competitive edge against some of the best electric contenders in the marine sector.

Industry Recognition and Support

Commenting on the performance, Mr. Herbert Dercksen, CEO of XNRG.tech, expressed pride in the lightweight carbon construction of the energyX 6.3, which tip the scales at only 1400 kilograms, including battery and engine. His enthusiasm reflects a broader industry recognition of the significant engineering accomplishments represented by the partnership of XNRG.tech and ExploMar.

Alex Dong, the CEO of ExploMar, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the collaborative effort that went into showcasing the WAVE300 at MEBC. He noted that the company’s technical team provided comprehensive support throughout the preparation and racing stages, reinforcing the brand's commitment to innovation and performance.

The Future of Electric Marine Technology

The success of the WAVE 300 at the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge not only marks a pivotal moment for ExploMar and XNRG.tech but also indicates a shift towards greener technologies within the marine industry. As electric propulsion systems improve, the potential for more sustainable boating experiences increases, allowing the industry to meet the challenges of today’s environmental demands while enhancing performance.

The WAVE 300’s impressive results have positioned it as a formidable entry in the electric outboard market, promising exciting advancements in marine technology as it continues to evolve. The demonstration of its capabilities at MEBC underscores not only its potential but also the growing excitement around electric vehicles in the maritime world.
