Fujikura Co., Ltd., led by CEO Naoki Okada, is taking significant steps to strengthen the sustainable operations of Fukagawa Gatharia, a mixed-use development in Koto City, Tokyo, built on a redeveloped former factory site. In recent years, Fujikura has progressed towards utilizing non-fossil certificates to effectively transition to renewable energy for its operations.

The introduction of the PPA marks a significant advancement in these efforts, aiming to expand the utilization of renewable energy at Fukagawa Gatharia. Through collaboration with Reene Co., a retail electricity provider, Fujikura will procure renewable energy for certain facilities at Fukagawa Gatharia over a span of 20 years. The expected annual procurement amount is approximately 2,500 MWh, which will help reduce CO2 emissions by about 1,130 tons each year.
