Hotel Metropolitan Edmont Organizes Blood Donation Campaign on February 16th

Blood Donation Campaign at Hotel Metropolitan Edmont: February 16, 2026

Hotel Metropolitan Edmont, located in Chiyoda, Tokyo, will host a blood donation campaign on February 16, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM. This initiative is done in collaboration with the Tokyo Hongo Rotary Club and the Tokyo Hongo Rotaract Club, with the aim of encouraging local residents and hotel guests to contribute to this important cause.

According to the Japanese Red Cross, the demand for blood increases during the winter months due to a rise in patients with cardiovascular diseases. At the same time, fewer donors come forward, often due to cold weather and flu season, leading to a concerning shortage of blood supplies. To combat this issue, Hotel Metropolitan Edmont and the Tokyo Hongo Rotary Club have worked together since 2022, providing the hotel facilities as a venue for blood donations, making it convenient for nearby residents and businesses.

This year, the Tokyo Hongo Rotaract Club, composed of young people aged 18 to 30, will join efforts to reach out to younger generations, as blood donations among teenagers and those in their twenties have decreased by over 30% in the past decade. By fostering a deeper understanding of the importance of donating blood, these organizations hope to attract more young donors to support blood donation efforts.
