DAMAC Digital Expands Global IT Capacity to 6,000 MW

DAMAC Digital, a global digital infrastructure provider that is part of the DAMAC Group, recently announced a significant milestone: its planned IT capacity has reached 6,000 megawatts (MW). This capacity is spread across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, demonstrating a vigorous expansion trek in response to the surging global demand for artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and digital infrastructures.

The announcement was made during the Datacloud Global Congress 2026, where Hussain Sajwani, the founder of the DAMAC Group, emphasized the essential role of digital infrastructure in supporting economies, businesses, and governments. According to Sajwani, "DAMAC Digital was created to serve as this foundational base for the age of AI and cloud." The company aims to operationalize 2 GW by the end of Q1 2028, illustrating ambitious growth plans in a sector witnessing rapid transformation.

Over the past five months, DAMAC Digital has opened ten new sites with eight more expected to become operational by the end of 2026. By the first quarter of 2027, the company is on track to achieve over 700 MW of operational capacity across more than 14 sites. Partnerships with five major global enterprises further solidify DAMAC Digital's position as a trusted ally for leading tech companies worldwide.

Backed by a growing workforce exceeding 600 employees, DAMAC Digital's expertise spans design, procurement, construction, operations, and various supporting functions across three continents. The company operates in several European countries, including Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, and the Nordic regions. In Asia, it is expanding in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. These developments have already led to full operational capacity achieved in Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

Founded in 2021 by Hussain Sajwani, DAMAC Digital emerged from the conviction that data centers would become one of the most crucial infrastructure categories over the coming decade. Starting with a 12 MW campus, the company has developed operational disciplines and delivery capacity that underpin its global aspirations.

Currently, DAMAC Digital is adeptly meeting increasing demands from hyperscalers, cloud service providers, enterprises, and applications related to AI. More than 90% of its data centers have been designed with advanced liquid cooling infrastructure, which is aimed at supporting the latest generation of AI accelerators, including NVIDIA's Vera Rubin platform.

The company's global pipeline is well-prepared for high-density computation, cloud growth, national digital transformation, and the necessity for sovereign digital infrastructures. DAMAC Group’s extensive experience in land acquisition, development, construction, and project execution enables DAMAC Digital to secure strategic sites, navigate complex permitting and zoning requirements, and rapidly market its capabilities.
