ISF Net Joy Enhances Employment Support Training Nationwide to Empower Disability Job Seekers

Comprehensive Training for Employment Support



In a significant move to enhance its employment support services, ISF Net Joy, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, conducted specialized training on June 26, 2025, targeting its personnel nationwide. This initiative is geared towards effectively preparing for the implementation of the 'Employment Selection Support' under the Comprehensive Support Law for Persons with Disabilities, set to begin in October 2025.

The primary objective of this training is to equip practitioners with the necessary skills to understand the unique characteristics and preferences of each job seeker, thereby facilitating better job selection processes. The training primarily focused on practical guidance regarding the MWS (Work Sample Makuhari Version), an objective and standardized assessment methodology used to evaluate the work capabilities of individuals with disabilities through various tasks, including office work.

Details of the Training



The training session featured expert facilitator Katsuragi, who has experience as an instructor in employment transition support and holds a qualification as a certified social worker. With ten staff members in attendance, the training was structured into two parts. In the first segment, participants explored an overview of the MWS, discussing each training item, conducting pre-training interviews with clients, demonstration of actual training methods, and post-training feedback processes.

The second segment was interactive, as attendees engaged in role-playing exercises, taking on the roles of job seekers and evaluators. This hands-on experience provided them with valuable insights into the perspectives and procedures involved in assessments, fostering a deeper understanding of practical application and retention of the training.

Background and Purpose of the Training



The Employment Selection Support service seeks to empower individuals with disabilities to choose jobs that align with their aptitudes and desires. This new welfare service, which will be institutionalized in October 2025, emphasizes a structured process for objectively assessing the job capabilities of disabled individuals, ensuring they make informed career choices. As such, support providers are required to establish robust assessment frameworks.

In light of these developments, ISF Net Joy has proactively begun implementing the MWS assessment tool across its various locations even before the official launch of the service.
