Introduction
The Tokyo Bay Area is witnessing a significant initiative aimed at fostering innovation through advanced technology. The Tokyo Bay ESG Project has officially opened applications for startups and companies seeking to contribute to the establishment of a sustainable urban model through innovative technology implementation. This initiative aims to provide both a platform for testing and support for technological development necessary for impactful solutions in various fields.
Overview of the Program
1. Recruitment Details
The project encompasses a wide range of fields, including zero-emission technologies, heat resistance, and circular economy principles. Startups can utilize the provided field for the social implementation of new technologies through product development and enhancement.
2. Support Menu
- - Temporary Use Type: Short-term technical demonstrations, such as mobility test drives, anticipated for about a week.
- - Permanent Installation Type: Long-term verification of equipment such as carbon dioxide recovery systems, aimed at data collection through the end of the fiscal year.
3. Expected Number of Adoptions
Approximately 20 projects will be selected for support.
4. Eligibility for Application
Applicants must generally be in a consortium of two or more entities. However, startups established for less than ten years can apply as a single entity. Note that joining the Tokyo Bay ESG Partner network is a prerequisite.
5. Implementation Area
The designated area for this initiative is the Central Breakwater Area.
Application Schedule (Overview)
Temporary Use Type:
- - Applications open on June 10 (Wednesday), on a rolling basis until the expected adoption count is met.
- - Review of submitted documents will proceed continuously.
- - Notifications of results will be issued approximately one month after application submission.
Permanent Installation Type:
- - Applications accepted from July 1 (Wednesday) to July 21 (Tuesday) by noon.
- - First round document review planned between early July and early August.
- - Second round document review scheduled for mid to late August.
- - Result notifications expected in early September.
