Trina Storage Introduces Innovative Elementa 2 Pro Energy Storage Solution for the North American Market
Trina Storage Unveils Next-Generation Elementa 2 Pro Platform
Trina Storage, a prominent figure in the energy storage arena, has recently introduced its Elementa 2 Pro Platform to the North American market. This innovative offering is an extension of their already successful Elementa 2 Elevate, tailored to tackle the specific requirements of grid-scale energy storage. Available in two convenient configurations – a 10 MWh (2-hour) system and a 20 MWh (4-hour) system – the Elementa 2 Pro is poised to revolutionize energy storage solutions across the region.
At the heart of the Elementa 2 Pro Platform is a fully integrated architecture that combines essential components such as battery cells, power conversion systems (PCS), transformers, and energy management systems (EMS) into a cohesive unit. This meticulous design, developed, tested, and supported by Trina Storage, significantly reduces common integration issues, streamlines procurement processes for developers and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms, and expedites the overall commissioning timeline.
With long-lasting 314Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells, the Elementa 2 Pro Platform incorporates intelligent liquid cooling technology. This ensures not only increased efficiency but also a remarkable 5% higher State of Health (SOH) at the 20-year mark, effectively extending the project's lifespan beyond 25 years. This longevity reduces the need for system augmentation and consequently decreases overall capital expenditure on projects.
Safety is paramount in energy storage, and the Elementa 2 Pro Platform excels in this area as well. Equipped with advanced fire safety systems, and achieving protection ratings of IP55/IP67, the platform adheres to stringent compliance requirements including UL 9540A, UL 1973, CE, and UN standards. This guarantees safe and dependable performance in a wide range of operating conditions, from -22 °C to 50 °C.
Terry Chen, the Vice President of Trina Storage Solutions U.S., articulated the significance of this product: "Our Elementa 2 Pro Platform redefines what it means to deliver a complete storage solution. From traceability and State-Side Integration Testing (SSIT) to real-world performance modeling, every layer of this platform is designed to reduce risk, accelerate deployment, and maximize value for our customers."
An additional standout feature is Trina Storage Trace, a proprietary digital system that provides component-level transparency. This ensures that each part of the system, from the raw material to the finished product, can be traced, bringing accountability and supply chain visibility to Trina Storage’s operations. This level of transparency is crucial for compliance with emerging regulatory and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) requirements, enhancing peace of mind for users and developers.
Doug Alderton, Head of Sales and Marketing at Trina Storage Solutions U.S., emphasizes the evolution of customer expectations: "The storage market has moved beyond standalone DC blocks. Customers are looking for trusted partners, fully wrapped systems, better performance, and faster delivery. The Elementa 2 Pro Platform delivers on all of that – and more."
The Elementa 2 Pro Platform will be prominently showcased at the upcoming RE+ 2025 event, taking place from September 9 to 11, where attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Trina's energy storage experts and experience the platform firsthand at booth V9071.
Trina Storage Solutions U.S., a branch of Trina Solar established in 2015, has over three decades of expertise in solar and storage industries, enabling them to deliver cost-effective, safe, and reliable systems. To date, their operations have successfully deployed over 10 GWh of storage capacity globally, ensuring a significant impact on the clean energy transition.
In conclusion, the launch of the Elementa 2 Pro Platform not only highlights Trina Storage's commitment to innovation in energy storage but also underscores the growing trend towards integrated, efficient, and transparent solutions in an evolving market.
