WHAT CAFE × DELTA Collaboration Exhibition: ‘TOPOLOGY 02’

The art gallery café WHAT CAFE, operated by Terada Warehouse Co., Ltd. in Shinagawa, Tokyo, is thrilled to announce its upcoming exhibition, 'WHAT CAFE EXHIBITION vol.43 WHAT CAFE × DELTA “TOPOLOGY 02”'. This captivating event will take place from November 29 to December 14, 2025. The exhibition represents an exciting collaboration with DELTA, an art project that showcases galleries, directors, and artists primarily based in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto.

This exhibition marks the fourth iteration of the DELTA project at WHAT CAFE, demonstrating the deepening relationship between these two entities. A total of ten directors comprising both emerging and mid-career professionals will participate in the exhibition. Each duo contains one director from Kanto and one from Kansai, working together to curate five distinct sections. Since its opening in 2020, WHAT CAFE has persistently committed to broadening the horizons of art and fostering interactions that transcend regional and positional boundaries through its exhibitions.

The title 'TOPOLOGY' refers to a system of thought that emphasizes the 'hidden properties' that do not vanish despite continuous change. The exhibition seeks to highlight the collaborative efforts across generations among directors and artists who come together with divergent backgrounds. Through these collaborations, the exhibition will illustrate the concept of TOPOLOGY and the fundamental idea of maintaining connections amidst change. By exhibiting contemporary art from varied perspectives, the exhibition aims to create an environment that encourages organic communication and interaction, tapping into cross-disciplinary values and thoughts.
