Discover 'earth song' Flower Shop in Takanawa Gateway City: A New Approach to Sustainability

Unveiling 'earth song' Flower Shop at Takanawa Gateway City

Takanawa Gateway City, managed by JR East Cross Station, embraces sustainability through its new event space, 'Machi Ai.' In a bid to foster a new cycle of local resources and community engagements, the vibrant flower shop 'earth song' will be held from May 13 to June 15, 2025. This initiative aligns with the motto of Takanawa Gateway City – promoting 'global benefits' through innovative experiences and offerings.

Concept and Offerings

The core concept of 'earth song' focuses on creating a 'New-Circulation.' Visitors will encounter unique, eco-friendly products including 'slow flowers'—flowers cultivated without harmful pesticides or chemical fertilizers—and repurposed products made from unsold flowers. The goal is to provide an enriching experience that contemplates the entire cycle from production to reuse.

Imagine selecting flowers not only to brighten your day but also to contribute to a healthier planet. 'earth song' cultivates a deeper connection between individuals, nature, and local producers while igniting a conversation about the impact of flowers on our ecosystem. This beautiful journey promotes awareness and encourages visitors to partake in a greater cycle of sustainability.

About 'earth song'

'earth song' envisions a garden where flowers are not just decorative but serve a purpose in ensuring a lush and beautiful future. The involvement of various community shops will allow the shop to showcase a wealth of stunning blooms. Under the guidance of renowned professionals, such as General Advisor Nao Hayasaka and Florist Partner Yuki Maeda, the shop will incorporate ethical and sustainable practices that prioritize environmental responsibility.

Key Features

1. Sustainable Products: From botanical bottles crafted from flowers that would have been wasted to botanical candles made with soy wax, visitors can enjoy products that embody a commitment to sustainability.

2. Workshops and Events: Various workshops will focus on utilizing unsold flowers, turning remnants into beautiful hand-dyed handkerchiefs, or participating in the 'flower compost' project that showcases nature’s recycling process.

3. Unique Signage: 'earth song' will feature a special sign made from seed paper that will sprout after a while—inviting visitors to witness the beauty of growth and renewal firsthand.

Interactive Experiences

In a creative turn, the 'Machi Ai' space will regularly transform, hosting pop-up shops, tasting events, and more—connecting the local community through unique experiences. The new initiative is designed not only as a marketplace but also as a place for collaboration and growth, bridging online and offline realms.

As part of the launch, the first 50 customers spending over 10,000 yen will receive an exclusive floral tote made from recycled materials, promoting waste reduction while providing a practical and stylish accessory.

Join the Movement

The excitement doesn't stop there! On June 14–15, during the shop's final weekend, attendees can actively participate in creating their own dyed handkerchiefs from flowers that have been generously contributed to the shop. This is part of a holistic approach to engaging with beauty and sustainability.

Follow 'earth song' on Instagram for the latest updates and workshop details, and embark on a journey of eco-conscious living.

Together, let's celebrate nature, support local communities, and create a ripple effect of positive change through the beauty of flowers at Takanawa Gateway City.
