GAC's Magazine and Solid-State Batteries Recognized with National Honors

GAC's Battery Innovations Achieve National Recognition

On December 29, an important exhibition titled "Forging the Path to National Strength: China's Manufacturing Achievements Under the 14th Five-Year Plan" kicked off at the National Museum of China. This event was a joint initiative of the National Museum of China and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, showcasing over 300 remarkable achievements from various sectors. Among these, GAC's Magazine Battery and Solid-State Battery stood out, earning recognition as exemplary innovations in the automotive battery industry.

A Closer Look at the Magazine Battery

The GAC Magazine Battery has made significant strides, being the first battery system to successfully pass both nail penetration without flame and non-ignition safety tests. This battery boasts ultra-high intrinsic safety cells and is supported by an advanced "vehicle-end + cloud-based" active safety monitoring system. With a multi-dimensional safety protection approach encompassing core, active, and passive measures, the Magazine Battery assures safety far superior to current electric vehicle traction battery standards, which will be enforced starting July 1, 2026. To date, this groundbreaking technology has been deployed in 1.3 million vehicles, achieving zero incidents of spontaneous combustion and accumulating over 50 billion kilometers of safe travel.

The Advanced Solid-State Battery

In addition to the Magazine Battery, GAC has developed a large-capacity Solid-State Battery featuring an energy density exceeding 400 Wh/kg. This battery has successfully undergone rigorous tests, including high-temperature resistance and nail penetration assessments, alleviating users' concerns about range limitations and safety risks. Innovations in both materials and manufacturing processes have positioned the solid-state battery as a frontrunner in the industry, excelling in critical performance metrics such as safety, energy density, and cycle lifespan. Currently, GAC has established a pilot production line capable of mass-producing vehicle-grade solid-state batteries exceeding 60 Ah, marking a significant milestone toward full integration of this technology into vehicles by 2026.

GAC's Commitment to Innovation

Over the years, GAC has focused on enhancing its competitive edge through continuous innovation in intelligent connectivity and next-generation NEV powertrains. The company is dedicated to advancing its intelligent connected NEV initiatives and is committed to introducing more cutting-edge technologies to propel industry growth. As GAC paves its path toward future developments, the recognition of its Magazine and Solid-State Batteries highlights its pivotal role in transforming the automotive landscape and ensuring safer, more efficient electric vehicles for consumers everywhere.

With these achievements, GAC is poised to not only thrive in the competitive automotive market but also lead the charge in battery technology, reshaping the future of sustainable transportation.
