Addressing CVC Challenges
JAPAN CVC BASECAMP recognizes the unique challenges that CVCs face, especially in the areas of knowledge accumulation, startup selection, and networking disruptions due to personnel changes. The hub plans to provide four key offerings:
1.
Case Sharing Meetings (CASE): A platform for sharing insights on investment decision-making processes across various CVCs.
2.
Practical Programs (DOJO): Workshops that focus on skill acquisition related to investments, mergers and acquisitions, and new business development.
3.
Industry-Specific Forums (FORUM): Events organized approximately 30 times a year to discuss industry challenges and promote collaboration among different CVCs, regardless of sector.
4.
Individual Meetings (MATCHING DAY): Using the AI-powered platform
CATALYST to generate opportunities for meetings with suitable startups.
AI Matching Platform - CATALYST
The centerpiece of the JAPAN CVC BASECAMP will be the
CATALYST, a unique AI matching platform developed by FIRST CVC. Members will have streamlined access to search for startups, evaluate them using AI, request meetings, and create internal review documents in
PPTX/Excel formats. This solution will revolutionize the typically lengthy processes involved in startup investigation and documentation, thereby significantly accelerating the pace of open innovation.
