The Country Network Expands Its Reach Across Gulf Coast Markets with New Distribution Agreement

The Country Network Expands Its Gulf Coast Distribution

The Country Network (TCN) is taking bold steps to enhance its media presence in the Gulf Coast area through a new collaboration with Windsong Communications, Inc. As of September 1, 2026, TCN's 24-hour country music and lifestyle programming will reach an even wider audience, following a strategic distribution agreement that includes key Texas and Louisiana markets.

This initiative will see TCN distributed through four essential over-the-air television stations:
  • - Houston, Texas: KVQT-LD
  • - Beaumont, Texas: KAOB-LD
  • - Lake Charles, Louisiana: K21OB-D
  • - Corpus Christi, Texas: K33QP-D

The expanded distribution is estimated to increase TCN's potential reach by approximately 20%, attracting around 48 million television households. This growth is not merely about increasing the number of viewers; it represents a deeper commitment to enhancing the country music scene and supporting local communities.

Kenneth W. Williams II, the CEO of TCN, stated, “We are not simply adding four dots to a distribution map. We are building a stronger media platform around the people, music, businesses, and communities that make country culture what it is.” He emphasized that the agreement aligns with TCN's vision of engaging more deeply with communities, especially in economic hubs known for rich cultural contributions and entertainment.

Strategic Significance of the Expansion

The Gulf Coast serves as a vital area for TCN, comprising approximately 9.2 million people and 3.7 million television households. The new stations are strategically positioned within significant urban and economic centers that are not just culturally rich but also boast robust industries such as energy, petrochemicals, and logistics—each closely associated with country music's fan base.

Houston is one of the largest media markets in the nation and adds substantial strength to TCN’s coverage. The deal allows TCN to further refine its programming and advertising strategy while maintaining direct relationships with artists and local businesses.
