InCoax Unveils Enhanced D2508 ER DPU for Large Apartment Connectivity

InCoax Unveils D2508 ER DPU for Improved Apartment Connectivity

InCoax Networks AB is making significant strides in broadband technology with the launch of its new D2508 ER, a MoCA Access™ 2.5 DPU specifically designed for enhancing fiber-based internet services in mid to large-size multi-dwelling units (MDUs). This release represents a major advancement in the company's D-series platform, focusing on seamlessly extending broadband connectivity over existing coaxial networks within buildings.

High-Performance Capabilities

The D2508 ER boasts impressive specifications, delivering symmetrical broadband services at speeds reaching up to 2.5 Gbps per coax port. This performance ensures low latency, facilitating seamless service upgrades without the need to replace in-building wiring. With eight coax ports designed for distribution across multiple risers, this DPU can effectively support up to 31 network termination devices (NTE modems) per port, accommodating a total of up to 248 devices depending on the network's specific topology.

Targeted Solutions for Diverse Environments

This new DPU is crafted for point-to-multipoint coaxial networks and includes enhanced output power to better serve occupants in varied in-building environments. The designation 'ER' stands for 'Extended Range,' emphasizing its capacity to operate efficiently over longer distances in more demanding settings.

Cost-Effective and Efficient Deployment

One of the standout features of the D2508 ER is its ability to reuse existing coax cables within buildings, significantly minimizing the need for new wiring installations. This reuse lowers both capital expenditure (CAPEX) and the time required for deployment. Consequently, service providers can expect faster-to-revenue scenarios while extending their services to a greater number of tenants. The device also includes features for eQoS (enhanced Quality of Service) for MoCA Access 2.5, allowing for traffic prioritization and consistent performance during peak usage times.

Compatibility and Integration

Operability across a wide frequency range allows the D2508 ER to function alongside existing TV services and DOCSIS 3.0, facilitating service upgrades without disruptions. It supports various technologies including GPON, XG-PON, XGS-PON, and Active Ethernet through a SFP+ uplink ranging from 1 to 10 Gbps. For easier management, the unit can be remotely controlled via standard interfaces, integrating seamlessly with InCoax Manage EMS or other external systems.

Durable Design for Various Installations

The D2508 ER features an IP67-rated enclosure, allowing for both indoor and outdoor installs in areas such as basements or utility manholes. This robust design ensures adaptability across different building types and environments, supporting diverse deployment scenarios effectively.

Vision for the Future

Jakob Tobieson, CEO of InCoax, comments on this product as a vital development in their D-series platform. He notes, “The D2508 ER is a key evolution that strengthens our ability to cater to larger buildings with more complex deployments. It enables efficient and scalable installations, allowing our partners to better align network performance with the varied demands of each setting.”

With the D2508 ER now available in multiple regional variants for the EU, US, and UK markets, InCoax is leading the charge towards enhanced digital inclusion and improved internet access for communities across the globe.

InCoax Networks AB aims to transform existing property coaxial networks into future-proof solutions for broadband connectivity, ensuring service providers can meet the growing demands of internet access while enhancing user experiences in residential complexes.
