Doosan's Innovative Energy Solutions at CES 2026
At the
CES 2026 event, Doosan Group is set to introduce an impressive lineup of energy solutions aimed at supporting the rapidly growing demands of AI technologies. Through its leading energy subsidiaries,
Doosan Enerbility and
HyAxiom, the group is showcasing an array of next-generation solutions designed to provide cleaner and more efficient energy systems. The exhibition will take place from
January 6 to January 9 at the
Las Vegas Convention Center, specifically at
Booth 5840 in West Hall.
Addressing Energy Needs in the AI Era
Recent estimates indicate that by
2030, data centers could account for as much as
12% of total electricity consumption in the U.S. This substantial energy requirement poses a significant challenge, which Doosan is addressing through its advanced technology portfolio. The company's offerings include large-scale
gas turbines,
small modular reactors (SMRs), and innovative
fuel cell technologies.
Gas Turbines: Reliable Power for AI
As part of its energy portfolio,
Doosan's large-scale gas turbine technology is engineered to provide dependable power for AI infrastructure. Notably, Doosan became the first company in
Korea and the fifth worldwide to independently develop and commercialize these large turbines. Their technology has been validated through installations at multiple facilities, affirming its reliability in demanding environments like AI data centers. With recent contracts secured with a prominent
U.S. tech company, Doosan is on a trajectory to enhance its scalable energy solutions further. Looking ahead, the company plans to develop a
100% hydrogen-fueled gas turbine slated for completion by
2028, which will mark a significant step towards carbon-neutral energy solutions.
Small Modular Reactors: Zero-Carbon Flexibility
Building on its long-standing expertise in nuclear energy, Doosan is advancing its contribution to sustainable power through
small modular reactors (SMRs). By partnering with leading developers, Doosan manufactures key components for next-generation nuclear facilities globally. The flexibility of Doosan's SMR solutions allows them to provide stable zero-carbon baseload energy, adaptable to the specific needs of AI infrastructure. This unique capability stems from Doosan's extensive experience and end-to-end manufacturing expertise. Since the
1980s, the company has equipped numerous power plants with essential nuclear technology, having supplied
34 main reactor units and
124 steam generators around the world.
Fuel Cells: Rapid Deployment and Clean Power
In addition to its gas turbines and SMRs,
HyAxiom's fuel cell technologies stand out for their appealing deployment speed and localized power generation capabilities. As an established leader in fuel cell innovation, HyAxiom has an impressive history, including supplying hydrogen-powered fuel cells for the
Apollo space program. The company has also developed notable clean power utilities, such as the world's first
100% hydrogen fuel cell power plant. One of the highlights at their booth will be the
PureCell® Model 400 system, a compact and efficient power plant capable of generating
up to 460 kW of electricity, sufficient for approximately
340 homes. Furthermore, they will feature scalable solutions like the
PAFC 10MW Power Block, designed specifically to meet the energy demands of dense urban settings.
Commitment to a Cleaner Future
“The
AI revolution is underway and evolving rapidly,” stated
Doo Soon Lee, CEO of HyAxiom. “As the demand for energy escalates, our ambition is to lead in developing cleaner, scalable solutions that can benefit both businesses and communities.”
Yeonin Jung, COO of Doosan Enerbility, also emphasized the company's strategic position: “With our eco-focused vision and diverse portfolio—including SMRs, gas turbines, hydrogen, and wind technologies— we are poised to meet the future energy requirements of the emerging AI landscape.”
