Global Digital Innovation Network Celebrates 2024 Overseas Expansion Milestones and Achievements
GDIN Celebrates Key Achievements in 2024 Overseas Expansion Program
The Global Digital Innovation Network (GDIN), led by CEO Jongkap Kim, has announced impressive results from its Overseas Expansion Support Program for 2024. This initiative aims to empower early-stage, innovative technology companies in South Korea, reflecting GDIN's commitment to promoting global success for the country's tech ecosystem.
The program, which began in 2013, has become an essential player in supporting the startup community, having aided over 3,000 companies over the past decade. In 2024 alone, GDIN provided specialized support to 122 promising tech startups, encompassing 1,860 consulting sessions on vital topics including legal compliance, intellectual property, and marketing strategies. The organization also conducted 13 global technology matching events, allowing Korean startups to connect with potential international partners in diverse sectors such as artificial intelligence, fintech, green technology, and digital healthcare.
The achievements of these initiatives are remarkable. The participating startups secured about $140 million in international investments, contributing to a total of $246.6 million from both domestic and foreign sources. Additionally, the companies signed 193 international business contracts and established 14 overseas subsidiaries, setting a solid groundwork for future global growth.
One of the highlights of the year was GDIN’s year-end performance event, where standout companies were recognized for their exceptional contributions to the tech industry. Among these was Tilda, an AI-driven industrial optimization solutions provider, which received the prestigious Minister of Science and ICT Award. Thanks to GDIN's support, Tilda successfully showcased its innovative solutions at leading international events such as the GSMA DX Leaders CxO Summit and GITEX.
Moreover, several high-performing startups like Nearthlab, Nota AI, and EverEx demonstrated their potential and earned direct entry into GDIN's 2025 support program. Lumir, with its successful debut on KOSDAQ, also received a special recognition for its outstanding achievements this year.
“Global interest in the cutting-edge technologies developed by Korean companies is at an all-time high,” commented Jongkap Kim, emphasizing GDIN’s commitment to facilitating international opportunities for local startups. The organization aims to continue offering comprehensive support to help these ambitious companies thrive on the global stage.
As GDIN evolves and adapts in the ever-changing tech world, its commitment to fostering collaboration between South Korean startups and the global market remains unwavering. Since its inception, GDIN has successfully forged over 160 international partnerships and helped raise an impressive $3.6 billion in investments, signifying its stature as a cornerstone of innovation and growth in South Korea’s tech landscape.
In that sense, GDIN not only represents a successful initiative for local startups but also embodies the broader ambition of positioning South Korea as a leader in global technology innovation. The achievements of 2024 are just a snapshot of what's to come as GDIN continues to elevate its efforts in supporting the tech ecosystem in South Korea.
