Leifras Sports School Makes Its First Entrance in Tottori Prefecture

Leifras Sports School's New Venture in Tottori

Leifras Co., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has announced the inaugural opening of its Leifras Sports School in Tottori Prefecture. This significant milestone will include experience events held in Yonago City, aiming to engage local families and communities.

What is Leifras Sports School?

Leifras Sports School operates under the guiding principle of "Recognize, Praise, Encourage, and Empower." It focuses on providing a positive environment where children can enjoy various sports without fear of punishment or pressure to win. Instead, the program fosters essential non-cognitive skills such as leadership and teamwork, aiming to develop well-rounded individuals through fun, inclusive sports education.

The upcoming experience events will feature not only the Dance School Couleur but also an array of other sports, including soccer, baseball, and basketball, with a total of 13 sports disciplines. Currently, Leifras has approximately 70,000 members across 43 prefectures in Japan, as of March 2025.

Understanding Non-Cognitive Skills

Non-cognitive skills, often referred to as "life skills" or "human capabilities," are crucial for thriving in society. Leifras identifies five key skills: greetings and manners, leadership, teamwork, self-management, and problem-solving. These competencies are essential for children to engage actively and confidently in their communities.

Leifras collaborates with sports psychology experts to continually refine its non-cognitive skill measurement system, known as "Mirabo." This system assesses children's capabilities annually, helping them, their parents, and instructors track their progress and foster improvement effectively.
