SolidRun and Peridio Partner to Enhance AI Technology with Avocado OS Integration

Advancing Physical AI with Avocado OS

In a groundbreaking collaboration, SolidRun, a notable innovator in high-performance computing solutions, teamed up with Peridio, the pioneer behind Avocado OS. This partnership marks a significant leap forward in the realm of physical AI applications, streamlining the transition from prototype to deployment. The Avocado OS is now integrated into SolidRun's RZ/V2N-based platforms, which include the HummingBoard RZ-V2N-AIoT and SolidSense AIoT V2N. This integration equips developers to deploy vision AI systems for various applications, such as industrial automation and remote sensing, far more efficiently than ever before.

A Robust Solution for AI Applications

At the heart of SolidRun’s RZ/V2N SOM (System-on-Module) lies the Renesas RZ/V2N SoC, a powerful solution featuring a quad-core Arm Cortex-A55 processor capable of speeds up to 1.8GHz and a dedicated DRP-AI3 neural accelerator that offers up to 15 TOPS (Tera Operations Per Second) for AI inference tasks. The computing capabilities are further enhanced with an Arm Mali-G31 GPU and provisions for 4K video encoding and decoding, alongside generous memory support of up to 8GB LPDDR4X.

The HummingBoard RZ-V2N-AIoT serves as a versatile single-board computer geared towards developers. It offers a range of industrial input/output options including dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, CAN-FD support, RS232/RS485 connectivity, and MIPI-DSI display support, all operating effectively within a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C.

In parallel, the SolidSense AIoT V2N encapsulates the same computing resources into a rugged, self-contained outdoor gateway. This unit is IP64-rated, featuring an integrated Sony IMX678 camera, infrared illumination, and a variety of wireless connectivity options, like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE. These specs ensure reliable, autonomous operation in remote locations without the need for existing infrastructure, powered either by batteries or solar energy.

The addition of Avocado OS provides these platforms with a fortified software foundation, overcoming traditional barriers that often prolong physical AI deployment timelines. This synergy between SolidRun’s hardware and Peridio’s unique operating system results in a streamlined approach, allowing developers to concentrate on refining their applications instead of grappling with underlying infrastructure complexities.

An Integrated Development Path

SolidRun's CEO, Dr. Atai Ziv, illustrated the complexity of scaling AI systems, stating, "Reaching a prototype is just part of the journey in physical AI. The true challenge lies in the effective deployment, management, and maintenance of these systems at scale." With Avocado OS available for the RZ/V2N platforms, developers are equipped with an explicit, tried-and-true roadmap from initial prototype stages right through to both production and ongoing fleet management, all the while relying on the necessary hardware performance for demanding vision AI workloads.

Peridio CEO, Bill Brock, reinforced this sentiment by emphasizing Avocado OS's purpose: to address the
