Valmet's Major Investment in Grasim Industries' Manufacturing Facility in India

In a strategic move to enhance the manufacturing capabilities of Grasim Industries Limited, Valmet has announced that it will undertake significant upgrades to their facilities in Harihar, Karnataka. The Finnish company, known for its advanced process technologies, will be implementing a new bleach plant and refurbishing existing brown stock washing and evaporation plants at Grasim's site. This collaboration is poised not only to boost production efficiency but also to reinforce Grasim's commitment to sustainability within its operations.

Project Overview

The rebuilding of the brown stock washing and evaporation plants along with the establishment of a state-of-the-art bleach plant signifies a pivotal shift in Grasim's production processes. According to Pawan Kumar Agarwal, Director of the India Region for Valmet, the goal is to enhance productivity while adhering to strict environmental standards. The project is expected to span over the course of one year, with completion targeted for the first quarter of 2026.

The new installations will incorporate Valmet's innovative HC Ozone Bleaching technology, which is designed to significantly reduce chemical inputs while optimizing overall process performance. This environmentally conscious approach is crucial for Grasim as it continues to focus on minimizing its ecological footprint while maximizing output.

Technical Specifications

The technological enhancements comprise several key improvements:
