JELD-WEN Expands Its Sustainable Offerings
JELD-WEN UK, a subsidiary of JELD-WEN Holding, Inc., a leading global manufacturer of building products, has proudly announced the expansion of its sustainable product portfolio through new certifications under the Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard. This development underscores JELD-WEN’s commitment to responsible innovation across Europe, offering products that not only meet but exceed expectations of sustainability.
The Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard is recognized globally for its rigorous criteria, evaluating products based on material safety, circular economy principles, climate protection, water management, and social equity. With this recent certification, JELD-WEN has further solidified its position as a leader in the building products industry that champions sustainable practices.
New Sustainable Products
Among the newly certified products are various door models that reflect JELD-WEN's dedication to eco-friendliness. These include ADVANCELINE exterior doors from Latvia, interior door frames from Estonia, high-performance doors from Denmark and Sweden, as well as stable and compact doors from Denmark. Notably, five best-selling models from the United Kingdom also received certification, showcasing JELD-WEN's extensive reach and commitment to sustainable manufacturing across five European nations.
Guillaume Woringer, Vice President Operations at JELD-WEN Europe, expressed that this success demonstrates how the company integrates sustainability into every aspect of product development and performance. He stated, "This certification is more than just recognition; it is evidence that sustainability is embedded in our product development and manufacturing processes. The commitment and technical excellence of our teams have transformed sustainability into a competitive advantage for our operational processes and customer service."
Regulatory Preparedness and Supply Chain Sustainability
This expansion comes at a pivotal time as Europe anticipates regulatory changes such as the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which requires proof that wood-based products do not contribute to deforestation. JELD-WEN is well-positioned to meet these upcoming regulations by adhering to the stringent Cradle to Cradle Certified® standards, which emphasize traceable and responsible sourcing.
By incorporating sustainability throughout the product lifecycle—from material selection and manufacturing to delivery—JELD-WEN not only ensures compliance with future regulations but also enhances transparency and long-term value creation for customers, partners, and communities.
Carolyn Payne, Director of Global ESG at JELD-WEN, remarked, "The expansion of our Cradle to Cradle certification is a significant milestone in JELD-WEN’s sustainability journey. This certification reflects our commitment to developing products that are safe, circular, and responsibly manufactured. It is a testament to the efforts of our global teams and our continuous endeavors to embed ecological and social responsibility in every stage of our value chain."
Commitment to Innovation and Community
As a global player, JELD-WEN aspires to provide sustainable and innovative solutions that benefit its customers, communities, and the planet. The ongoing certification process speaks volumes about the continuous progress JELD-WEN is making toward achieving its global Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals.
