Wipfli's 21st Annual Community Day: Associates Dedicate Time to Service and Impact

Uniting for a Cause: Wipfli's 21st Annual Community Day

On September 25, 2025, Wipfli, ranked among the top 25 advisory and accounting firms in the nation, marked a significant milestone with its 21st annual Community Day. This event embodies the firm's dedication to social responsibility and community engagement, allowing associates to step away from their daily tasks to contribute to meaningful causes.

Kurt Gresens, CEO of Wipfli Advisory LLC, articulated the essence of Community Day, stating, "Community Day is more than a volunteer day, it's a living example of our 'One Wipfli' spirit. It reflects our values and allows us to create lasting impacts in communities across the U.S. and India."

The commitment to community is a cornerstone of Wipfli's culture. Associates are not only encouraged to volunteer their time but also supported through various programs that enable them to pursue their philanthropic interests. This year, over 1,000 Wipfli associates engaged in numerous projects across 25 offices, collectively contributing more than 3,200 hours in service to 67 different nonprofits.

A Day of Impact

Activities during Community Day were diverse, showcasing the wide array of causes that employees are passionate about. From combating hunger to enhancing community spaces, Wipfli's associates were involved in initiatives that resonate deeply within their local contexts. Here are a few highlights:

  • - Fighting Hunger in St. Louis: Whitney Fossum and her team partnered with STL Foodbank to organize fresh food donations. Whitney noted, "Putting together all those fresh food donations is simple work, but it does a world of good for those in need in our area."

  • - Animal Welfare in Portland: Blake Potter and her colleagues spent the day cleaning stables at the Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals. Blake shared her experience, saying, "These horses need a lot of care, and rolling up our sleeves to do some dirty work was a great reset for me."

  • - Habitat for Humanity in Green Bay: Heather Noto dedicated her hours at Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, sorting and cleaning donated home goods. She demonstrated her passion by stating, "Every item we sort or shelf helps someone in need — that’s a good way to spend a day."

Investing in Community

Wipfli's commitment to community service extends beyond just volunteer hours. Through its Community Support Program, the Wipfli Foundation has awarded over $106,000 to empower associates in their charitable endeavors. This initiative underscores Wipfli’s belief that supporting the community is a core responsibility, not merely a value.
