Nerisai Experience: A Bridge to Inclusive Disaster Preparedness
On July 6, 2025, the Tokyo Youth Chamber of Commerce Nerima District Committee will host an engaging event, the "Nerisai Experience," at the Tokyo Metropolitan Oizumi Special Support School. This initiative aims to enhance community awareness and understanding of disaster preparedness, particularly for people with disabilities, while fostering a spirit of coexistence. Through a range of hands-on activities, participants can learn the importance of being prepared for emergencies and the significance of mutual support during difficult times.
A Comprehensive Program for All
The Nerisai Experience will feature several interactive programs designed to cater to various audience segments—from children to adults. Participants will engage in activities that simulate visual and auditory disabilities, giving them a unique perspective on the challenges faced by individuals with these disabilities. Through these simulations, community members can develop empathy and understanding, which are crucial for building a cohesive society that values inclusivity.
Workshops and Demonstrations
In addition to the disability simulations, participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops on how to effectively use disaster preparedness supplies. These hands-on demonstrations will empower individuals with the skills necessary to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently. Various welfare organizations will also host panel displays, sharing vital information about resources and support systems available to assist people with disabilities during disaster situations.
Free Participation and Sweet Surprises
Participation in the Nerisai Experience is entirely free, making it accessible for everyone. To encourage early engagement, the first 100 attendees will receive a complimentary snack, adding a touch of sweetness to the day's events. Families and friends are invited to come together to learn and participate in this meaningful experience, reinforcing the community's commitment to inclusivity and disaster readiness.
