Launch of MVV Maastricht Football HUB: Shaping Future Football Talent

In an exciting development for football, Deshima Football Consultancy, a company co-owned by MVV Maastricht, has officially launched the MVV Maastricht Football HUB, a project aiming to cultivate future football talent. With a focus on establishing a new hub for football development in Europe, this initiative aims to connect Japanese players and professionals with international opportunities in the ever-evolving football landscape.

Establishing a New European Base for Football Talent

Founded in October 2024 in the Netherlands, Deshima Football is committed to creating a robust infrastructure for football talent development. The team is made up of professionals well-versed in both the business and football aspects of the industry, offering a unique blend of local knowledge and international expertise.

Since becoming a co-owner of MVV Maastricht in April 2025, Deshima Football has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering future talent through the MVV Maastricht Football HUB. This project embodies Deshima's mission to bridge the gap between Japan and Europe through football development, thus creating a truly global enterprise.

Japan’s Football Growth and Ambitions

The progress of Japanese football on the global stage is noteworthy, highlighted by achievements such as the victorious Women’s National Team in the 2011 World Cup, as well as the men’s team’s recent victories over Spain and Germany during the Qatar World Cup group stages. With secure qualification for the 2026 North American World Cup, Japan's football ambitions have never been clearer.

The Japan Football Association (JFA) aspires for the national team to win the World Cup by 2050, reflecting a shared dream among the Japanese populace. However, to accelerate their growth trajectory further, it is crucial to not only enhance player competitiveness but also nurture global talents in football business and technical staff.

Opportunities at the MVV Maastricht Football HUB

The MVV Maastricht Football HUB will strategically leverage the geographical advantages of Maastricht, along with the rich traditions and cultural heritage of MVV Maastricht, combined with Deshima Football’s international football knowledge. It aims to provide international experiences and practical football business training to aspiring young talents from Japan and their counterparts in Europe.

The hub’s offerings will include:
  • - International excursions and camps for youth and university players
  • - Hosting youth international tournaments
  • - Support for domestic youth competitions
  • - Football business education and training programs tailored for universities and companies

These initiatives are designed to promote the development of football talents who can bridge both Japan and Europe, ensuring a steady flow of skilled professionals in the football landscape.
