Canon Marketing Japan has announced the upcoming release of 'TranCis', the latest book from renowned photographer Kyuu Furumi, set to hit stores on August 4, 2026. This book is part of the acclaimed 'PHOTOGRAPHERS’ ETERNAL COLLECTION', which showcases significant works from celebrated photographers. As the 22nd volume in this series, 'TranCis' invites readers into the depths of Furumi's explorations between the human world and the life of the ocean.
About 'TranCis'
The photobook 'TranCis' is a culmination of Kyuu Furumi's long-standing vision as an underwater photographer. It intricately examines the boundary that exists between people and fish, as well as the relationship between humans and the ocean. Through Furumi's unique perspective, the book portrays the vibrant lives of aquatic creatures and the connections that bind all living beings together.
It features a range of stunning imagery capturing both underwater worlds and terrestrial scenes from above the water surface. This interplay between viewing from above and below the water challenges readers to reflect on the relationship between humanity and nature and to contemplate the significance of life itself.
The book contains numerous previously unpublished works, encapsulating Furumi's deep affection for fish and an unwavering curiosity about the ocean. It is beautifully printed using Canon’s professional photo printer, the DreamLabo 5000, ensuring an extensive color range, precise resolution, and rich tonal expressions in the shadow areas, revealing the depth of Furumi's artistry.
