Canada Nickel Unveils Promising Exploration Results from Reid Nickel Sulphide Project

Insights into the Latest Discoveries at Reid Nickel Project

Canada Nickel Company Inc. has made headlines recently with the announcement of significant advancements in their exploration drilling results from the Reid Nickel Sulphide Project. Located approximately 39 kilometers northwest of Timmins, Ontario, this project has demonstrated remarkable potential, especially with the discovery of over 1 kilometer of nickel mineralization extending 300 meters below the current resource. This achievement has garnered excitement not only from investors but also from industry analysts moving forward.

The latest drilling results assert that the company has successfully filled and extended existing nickel mineralization in several directions - specifically to the north, west, and south. The average nickel grade from 1,018 meters of drilling came in at a solid 0.28%, with notable high-grade intervals recorded at 0.36% over 97 meters and 0.42% over 45 meters. As the Reid project continues to progress, an updated mineral resource estimate is expected by the end of 2025, which could reflect a significant increase in inferred resources and enhance existing categories of mineral resources.

CEO Mark Selby expressed enthusiasm about the findings, stating that “Reid continues to deliver.” He highlighted the substantial potential size and scale of the project, cementing its significance within the broader Timmins Nickel District. The impressive results align with prior expectations established when the initial resource was published last year, fueled by exploratory data indicating a geophysical target nearly three times larger than Crawford’s.

Delving deeper, the Reid Project consists of a large serpentinized ultramafic footprint primarily marked by dunite and peridotite, interspersed with higher-grade nickel mineralization intervals. A comprehensive drilling program comprising 28 holes was conducted in the first half of 2025, which not only aimed at infilling previous drill sections but also sought to bolster confidence in the updated mineral resource due for release in late 2025.

Understanding the Long Intervals of Mineralization

In the latest exploration phase, all 20 drillholes from the concluding program intersected long intervals of mineralized dunite, revealing significant geological variances contributing to high nickel grades. Noteworthy among them, the drillholes REI25-82 and REI25-89 were strategically positioned to assess for shallow high-grade nickel mineralization just beneath the surface overburden.

The initial mineral resource, made public on December 23, 2025, reported an Indicated Resource of 0.59 billion tonnes, grading 0.24% nickel, which contained about 1.4 million tonnes of nickel. The Inferred Resource was estimated at 0.99 billion tonnes, grading 0.23% nickel, thereby holding approximately 2.2 million tonnes of nickel. Not only does this reflect the potential for extraction, but it paves the way for future exploration ventures across the entire district.

Future Outlook and Exploration Strategy

Canada Nickel Company is gearing up for an intensive exploration strategy moving forward. They aim to define the potential resource in their exploration target ranging between 0.9 to 2.1 billion tonnes with an expected nickel grade of around 0.20-0.22%. Such an ambitious target indicates the company’s commitment to harnessing growth in both nickel and cobalt sectors, particularly with electric vehicle and stainless steel industry demands on the rise.

Overall, as the process of generating updated resources commences, expectations are that Canada Nickel will not only reinforce its position in the market but also continue to reveal the true potential inherent in the Reid Nickel Sulphide Project.
