Huawei Unveils Enhanced AI-WAN Solution To Foster Operator Growth

Huawei's Enhanced AI-WAN Solution

On October 14, 2025, Huawei presented its newly upgraded AI WAN solution at the Net5.5G summit during the Ultra Broadband Forum (UBBF) 2025 held in Paris. The company emphasized the importance of smart networks using Internet Protocol (IP), focusing on growth through the theme of "Prosper with Net5.5G for All Intelligence."

The Launch of AI-Centric Solutions

Leon Wang, President of Huawei's Data Communication Product Line, delivered an insightful speech on the AI-centric intelligent network. He highlighted that Huawei's enhanced AI WAN solution has undergone extensive modernization specifically aimed at artificial intelligence. This solution is built on a three-layer architecture, which comprises AI-focused devices, AI-driven connections, and an AI-centric brain. Such a structure redefines the IP backbone network in the Net5.5G era and accelerates operators’ transition to the phase known as Net5.5G R2 AI UBB.

One of the significant challenges facing network operators today is the stagnation of growth in fixed broadband services and the increasing homogeneity of service packages. To address this, Huawei's AI WAN solution incorporates the Xingluo identification and profiling modules, enabling monetization at the application level. This is pivotal for operators as it facilitates the design of differential service packages, improving the accuracy of identifying potential customers to over 90% through multidimensional profiling.

Meeting the Demand for AI Computing Services

Continuing on the theme of addressing industry needs, Huawei’s AI WAN solution has also enabled China Telecom Shanghai to launch smart computing private lines, effectively resolving performance bottlenecks often seen in traditional networks. By employing the Xingluo lossless algorithm, Huawei ensures accurate congestion control at the flow level. Furthermore, this solution, along with vector conversion tools, adequately protects data integrity and supports training for collaborative efforts between edge clouds. Operators can expect a tenfold increase in Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), with a return on investment anticipated within just two years.

Strengthening Security Resilience

In the face of increasingly complex network threats, Huawei's AI WAN solution enhances security resilience across devices, networks, and configurations. It facilitates fault isolation at the session level and provides encryption resistant to quantum attacks. The online configuration simulation can verify thousands of devices within mere minutes, significantly reducing human error and enhancing service protection for customers.

Moreover, with traditional operating and maintenance models facing immense pressure due to network expansions, Huawei's NetMaster system allows for continuous network protection. This system transitions the operational stance from passive to highly proactive. For instance, China Mobile Guangdong has drastically reduced fault diagnosis time from 45 minutes to just 5 minutes using a knowledge database of 300,000 cases. Similarly, MasOrange Spain deployed an autonomous L4 IP network powered by Huawei’s AI WAN, which culminated in reduced average repair times, lowered costs, and improved operational efficiency.

Celebrating Innovation

The summit concluded with the prestigious presentation of the Net5.5G Pioneer Awards, honoring winners among more than ten global operators and accelerating the worldwide commercial deployment of Net5.5G. This event signified a moment of celebration for advancements in network technology and strategic growth aimed at meeting emerging consumer demands in an increasingly digital world.

Overall, Huawei’s enhanced AI WAN solution stands as a testament to innovation in the telecommunications sector, paving the way for a prosperous future for operators around the globe.
