E Ink has a deep-rooted connection to Massachusetts, having been spun out of the MIT Media Lab back in 1997. The Billerica campus is home to over 260 employees and serves as a pivotal global research and development center. Here, E Ink collaborates closely with customers, academic institutions, and industry partners to develop sustainable, low-power display solutions that are increasingly crucial in today’s tech-savvy environment.

The Town of Billerica’s Director of Planning and Community Development, Katherine Malgieri, expressed gratitude for the productive partnership between the local government and E Ink, highlighting that this expansion is set to generate new jobs during both the construction phase and upon completion. This growth is poised to make a significant contribution to the region’s innovation economy, reinforcing the partnership’s value.
