Geneva School of Diplomacy Achieves Prestigious ACBSP Accreditation

Geneva School of Diplomacy Gains ACBSP Accreditation

The Geneva School of Diplomacy (GSD) has recently achieved a significant milestone by securing accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). This achievement not only recognizes GSD's commitment to high academic standards but also places it among a select group of globally recognized institutions focused on diplomacy education.

Importance of ACBSP Accreditation

ACBSP accreditation is well-regarded in higher education, specifically in business and related disciplines. This accreditation indicates that GSD meets rigorous standards for quality in teaching, learning outcomes, faculty qualifications, and student support. Moreover, it serves as a benchmark for continual institutional improvement, further enhancing the educational experiences offered to students across GSD's various degree programs, including Bachelor's, Master's, Executive, and Doctoral degrees.

The recognition garnered through this accreditation will aid GSD in attracting top-tier students and faculty, which is crucial for maintaining a competitive edge in the increasingly globalized landscape of higher education. Arber Reci, the Head of Quality Assurance at GSD, expressed enthusiasm over this achievement, stating that it validates their hard work in meeting strict assessment criteria set by ACBSP.

Building on Existing Certifications

GSD’s latest accreditation comes on the heels of its previous eduQua certification, a quality label acknowledged in Switzerland, demonstrating the institution's ongoing commitment to educational excellence. Furthermore, GSD is actively pursuing additional accreditation from the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), a recognized institutional accreditor in the United States that evaluates educational organizations both in the US and internationally.

The NECHE accreditation, in conjunction with GSD’s pursuit of Swiss institutional accreditation, showcases the school’s ambition to fortify its academic credibility and expand its quest for excellence in diplomacy education.

Expansion of Alumni Network and Partnerships

Since its establishment in 2003 with only 11 students, GSD has grown significantly, currently boasting an alumni network of over 700 graduates. These alumni are making impactful contributions across various fields such as diplomacy, government, civil society, journalism, and business. Notably, GSD's alumni network includes more than 15 ambassadors actively representing their countries at the United Nations and abroad.

Additionally, Geneva School of Diplomacy has formal partnerships with prestigious institutions, including the London School of Economics, MGIMO in Russia, Jindal University, Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, and Malta Business School. Such collaborations further enrich GSD’s educational offerings and enhance its global outreach.

A Forward-Looking Institution

As GSD embarks on its journey towards enhanced accreditation, it remains focused on strengthening its global presence in the field of diplomacy education. The accreditation from ACBSP is a significant step towards achieving greater recognition and establishing itself as a preeminent school for aspiring diplomats.

In conclusion, the Geneva School of Diplomacy's attainment of ACBSP accreditation not only signifies a remarkable achievement but also reflects its dedicated efforts in promoting quality standards in higher education. As the institution aims for further accreditations, it will hopefully continue to attract a diverse range of students and faculty committed to making a difference in the world of diplomacy. With its strategic initiatives, GSD is set to bolster student confidence and further enhance its academic reputation, both in Switzerland and internationally.
