CATL Unveils Shenxing Pro at IAA Mobility 2025

During the open day at CATL, the company launched the Shenxing Pro, touted as the world's first Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery designed specifically for the European electric vehicle (EV) market. This innovative battery not only provides consistent high voltage but also operates without flames or smoke during thermal runaway events. The Shenxing Pro is being hailed as the ultimate solution for the rapidly expanding EV sector in Europe, setting new benchmarks in safety, lifespan, range, and fast charging.

Addressing Europe's EV Market Challenges

The rapid adoption of electric vehicles is evident in Europe, as reports by SNE and MarkLines indicate an increase in the market share of EVs from 23% to 26% in the first half of 2025, with projections of reaching 29% by the year-end. The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that sales of electric vehicles in Europe will hit 4 million units this year, up from 3.2 million in 2024. However, consumer apprehensions surrounding costs, battery longevity, limited range, charging infrastructure gaps, and battery safety persist. The Shenxing Pro seeks to directly address these challenges, offering tailored performance and safety for diverse driving needs in Europe.

Revolutionizing E-Mobility with Innovative Battery Technology

Equipped with CATL's proprietary NP-3.0 technology, the Shenxing Pro represents a significant leap in battery advancements. It comes in two variants:

• - Shenxing Pro Super Long Life: This variant boasts the world's first LFP battery capable of achieving a WLTP range of 758 km and an incredible lifespan of 12 years or 1,000,000 km. It is perfectly tailored for the European leasing markets, exhibiting only a 9% degradation after the first 200,000 km.
• - Shenxing Pro Super-Fast Charging Battery: Capable of charging to provide a WLTP range of 478 km in merely 10 minutes—equivalent to 0.8 km per second—this battery is Europe's leading super-fast charging LFP battery. With a power output of 830 kW, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, even at a 20% state of charge. It also showcases remarkable capabilities, maintaining a range of 410 km in extreme cold conditions at -20°C within 20 minutes of charging. Furthermore, the battery comes with a 10-year or 240,000 km guarantee, setting new standards for durability in fast charging.

Both variants leverage the NP-3.0 technology, considered the pinnacle of CATL's seven years of safety innovation through No Propagation (NP) measures. NP-3.0 represents the industry's best safety performance, sustaining high-voltage output for over an hour post-thermal runaway while maintaining vehicle speed, allowing drivers to steer safely away from danger without fires or smoke. As autonomous driving technology advances with levels L3 and L4 increasingly shifting accident accountability to vehicle systems, the Shenxing Pro's uninterrupted power supply and operational continuity during emergencies fulfill the heightened safety and risk response requirements.
