Strategic Land Deal Paves Way for Largest Data Center in Chile

In a groundbreaking move for digital infrastructure in Latin America, TECfusions has entered into a significant agreement with the Baeza Group, a respected Chilean construction firm. This union is set to transform the data landscape in the region, with plans for the largest data center campus in Chile, strategically located in Puente Alto. The Binding Letter of Intent (LOI) was finalized on May 7, 2025, and it comes at a time when there is an escalating demand for robust digital infrastructure in the region.

The deal grants TECfusions exclusive rights to a vast expanse of land in Puente Alto, where the initial phase of the data center will have an immediate capacity of 10 MW, with an additional 10 MW available from the local grid. The facility, which spans 40 acres, has expansion plans that could ramp up its capacity to a staggering 100 MW, making it the largest data center campus projected for the Santiago region. This extensive deployment aims to support the ongoing digital transformation in the area while adhering to stringent environmental standards, such as a zero-water-use initiative, addressing the critical issue of water scarcity in Chile.

According to industry forecasts, the data center market in Latin America is poised to double by 2030, driven primarily by increasing cloud adoption and digital transformation efforts. Chile particularly stands out with over $4 billion allocated for infrastructure investments, reinforced by its ambitious renewable energy goals and world-class utilities. Global technology companies are increasingly focusing their attention on Latin America, positioning TECfusions to meet the urgent need for environmentally responsible and scalable digital capacity.

Simon Tusha, Founder and CTO of TECfusions, stated, "Expanding into Chile marks a significant milestone in our global growth strategy and underscores our commitment to advancing digital transformation wherever innovation is most needed. Our objective is to establish sustainable, high-density infrastructures that are capable of evolving with the demands of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing while being environmentally responsible. By entering new markets like Latin America, we are setting the groundwork for a forward-looking digital future that effectively aligns with sustainability goals right from the onset."

The collaboration with the Baeza Group comes in response to robust interest from major global players in the tech industry. Rather than selling their invaluable asset, the Baeza family chose to partner with a known operator like TECfusions, ensuring both continued stewardship of the land and future growth opportunities. This partnership not only utilizes TECfusions' rapid, sustainable development expertise but also benefits from the local knowledge and insights that the Baeza Group brings to the table.

Oscar Gonzalez, Director of LATAM Markets for TECfusions, expressed excitement about the venture, stating, "This site will serve as a cornerstone for our expansion strategy in Latin America. We are not merely constructing a state-of-the-art data center; we are also laying the groundwork for long-term community and economic advancement in the area." Eduardo Baeza, CEO of the Baeza Group, added, "By partnering with TECfusions, we can maintain a stake in our family land while maximizing its potential for Chile’s digital future. Their commitment to sustainability and technical prowess makes them the perfect partner for this new chapter."

This data center will facilitate TECfusions' mission to expand globally while maintaining industry leadership and sustainable operation practices. The facility is intended to enable high-density, AI-ready deployments with no water usage, utilizing natural gas to ensure operational efficiency. This initiative sets a new benchmark for digital infrastructure in Latin America. Construction is slated to begin following the conclusion of due diligence and local permitting processes, with the first operational phase expected to launch within a year of breaking ground. As demand surges, TECfusions is poised to scale operations, enhance local infrastructure, and contribute to establishing Chile as a technology hub in the region.
