Transforming Corporate Identity: A 20-Year Merger Anniversary Case Study

Introduction


Chuden CTI, a prominent player in the IT sector of the Chubu Electric Power Group, has recently undertaken a significant renewal of its corporate website to commemorate its 20th anniversary of the merger and a change in leadership. This article provides insights into the renewal process, presented in two parts: the production phase and project management support.

Project Background


Amidst various challenges, Chuden CTI aimed to effectively communicate its current identity through the new website. Here, we highlight the three major issues they faced before the renewal:

1. Outdated Design and Inaccessible Information: The previous website had been operational for nearly a decade and faced significant design obsolescence, not to mention compatibility issues with mobile devices. This resulted in outdated content still being available, creating uncertainty about the accuracy and freshness of the information presented to potential clients.

2. Lack of Objective Evidence and Agreement Among Stakeholders: A clear deadline was established to unveil the renewed site by April 1, 2025. However, various departments with differing speeds and goals posed a challenge in alignment, particularly between the general affairs and public relations teams and the sales strategy department.

3. Resource Limitations and Operational Continuity Post-Launch: Due to competing priorities within the company, securing enough internal resources for project advancement became a pressing concern. Furthermore, there was an urgent need to establish a mechanism that would ensure ongoing operational capability, focusing on information update speed, security, and performance after launch.

Project Management Support Approach


In this project, Turbine Interactive, not merely functioning as an external vendor, included itself as an integral member of the Chuden CTI team. This collaboration facilitated objective market analysis and strategic decision-making, which were critical in addressing each of the aforementioned challenges. Through a participatory approach, project management support contributed to creating a common understanding of the brand identity across the involved teams.
