Migaloholdings and DXYZ Enhance Security with FreeiD
In an exciting development for residents in Hokkaido, Migaloholdings Group's subsidiary, DXYZ, has announced the implementation of its facial recognition ID platform, FreeiD, at the upcoming rental property, Junor Chitose Mamachi, developed by Hokkaido JR Urban Development. Scheduled for completion in February 2026, Junor Chitose aims to redefine living experiences by blending digital and real-world environments.
Background of FreeiD Implementation
The Junor brand, part of the JR Hokkaido Group, is designed to emphasize the convenience of rail transport alongside an appealing lifestyle environment. The cornerstone of Junor Chitose’s philosophy is “Heart is Hot, Living is Smart.” Its aim is to create a home that ensures both safety and comfort for residents.
With rising security awareness across society and the growing demand for touchless technologies, the shift from traditional keys and cards to facial recognition as a means of entry is becoming increasingly popular. In response to these trends, DXYZ’s FreeiD will be installed at the building's entrance and integrated with delivery box systems, allowing residents to enjoy a seamless and secure living experience.
What is FreeiD?
FreeiD is a revolutionary facial recognition ID platform from DXYZ, designed to connect various aspects of daily life—living, working, and playing—using facial recognition alone. By consolidating all forms of identification, including wallets and ID cards, into a single facial profile, users can access numerous services by using just their face. This integration promises a life without keys or wallets, encapsulated in the slogan, "Connecting the world with just a face."
The platform is engineered to work with a wide range of facial recognition AI systems, allowing the provision of optimal solutions tailored to different scenarios. The FreeiD Mansion solution, specifically designed for condominiums, stands out as Japan's first fully facial recognition apartment, eliminating the need for traditional keys in areas such as entrances and elevators throughout the building. As of late October 2025, 271 properties have successfully implemented FreeiD.
Beyond residential buildings, DXYZ also expands its facial recognition services to office spaces, daycare centers, golf courses, and theme parks. Additionally, the company is advancing projects like facial recognition payments and collaborations with My Number Cards.
