In a remarkable achievement, Rosewood Hong Kong has been named the number one hotel in the world for the year 2026, marking its second consecutive win at the prestigious awards ceremony, held in Paris on September 15. This accolade reaffirms the hotel’s status as a leader in global luxury hospitality, further spotlighting the dynamism and excellence present in Asia's hospitality sector.

The 50 Best Hotels awards, now in its fourth year, aims to celebrate exceptional hotel experiences and the impact of various establishments on the global travel scene. The awards recognize the pivotal role hotels play in shaping guests' experiences, ranging from personalized services to unique cultural encounters. Rosewood Hong Kong not only topped the list but also secured the title of 'Best Hotel in Asia,' reiterating the remarkable influence of Asian hotels in the realm of luxury accommodation.

Established in 2019 and designed by renowned Taiwanese designer Tony Chi, Rosewood Hong Kong extends an impressive 65 stories high above Victoria Harbour, creating an iconic silhouette against the city's backdrop. The hotel boasts 413 elegantly designed rooms and suites alongside a plethora of dining options, which includes eleven fine dining establishments that present culinary diversity to guests.

Coming in at second place is Capella Bangkok, celebrated for its elegant riverside retreat along the Chao Phraya River. Four Seasons Bangkok secured the third spot, showcasing the robust representation of Asian hotels on the list. Europe leads this year with a total of 21 hotels ranking among the top 50, with Italy, France, and the UK providing notable entries, reflecting Europe’s enduring standing in the luxury hotel industry.

Apart from Rosewood Hong Kong, other esteemed winners included Atlantis The Royal in Dubai (No.4) and Passalacqua in Lake Como (No.5), which also won the Best Boutique Hotel Award for the third consecutive year. The award recognizes hotels that offer a personalized service and reflect the character of their destination.

Special Awards

In addition to the main rankings, several special awards were presented at the ceremony to honor individual hotels and people who exemplify excellence in the hospitality industry. Notable among these was the Nikka Best New Hotel Award, presented to Patina Osaka, which secured the 33rd position on the list, exemplifying new heights in hotel innovation and character.

The awards also honored James McBride from Nihi Hotels with the SevenRooms Icon Award, showcasing leadership and innovation within the sector.
