Exclusive Local Hyogo Cuisine Featuring Award-Winning Pizza
In a remarkable culinary event, Imai Ken, the head chef of
La Filia del Presidente Paradiso sul Mare in Kobe, has made history by becoming the first Japanese winner of the prestigious pizza contest held in Naples, Italy. Under the management of Four Seasons Co., Ltd., led by President Sachiko Asano, the restaurant is set to offer an exclusive three-day 'Kobe-Tarumi Special Course' from July 18 to July 20, 2026. This special course will showcase the rich flavors of Hyogo, highlighting both the land and sea's bounties.
The course will include dishes crafted from the freshest fish directly sourced from Tarumi Fish Port and the exquisite Rokko Wagyu beef, ensuring a truly local dining experience. Owing to his expertise honed in Naples, Chef Imai will present an array of pizza that reflects the vibrant culinary heritage of both Japan and Italy.
During a visit to the Kobe location, Maria Cacciari, the owner of the original
La Filia del Presidente in Naples, expressed her admiration for the beautiful coastal views and the lively atmosphere that reminded her of her hometown, describing Kobe as 'Japan's Naples.'
The relationship between Tarumi, a historic port town, and Naples is evident as the special course brings the flavors of both places together, marking a new chapter in culinary exploration.
